Ghost Story TV Series 1972

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Gho...llection/12828

This is good news, since hopefully they will release the whole series on DVD. I've resisted getting a bootleg for a while now. I was very young (4 years old) when this came out, but have images of the show permanently etched into my mind (from 2 episodes in particular). Obviously my parents were watching it and I might have been in the room or sneaked in when I was supposed to be in bed! It took me a while to figure out what show it was. I've been dying to see it again! Anyone familiar with it?

I actually have a bootleg copy of the series run, so I am also hoping that it gets the tv-dvd treatment. I never thought I'd be hearing myself say this after a few years ago, but "Kudos to Sony! Let's hope MGM gets on the bandwagon!!!"

Scott, How's the quality on that bootleg set? I'm real tempted to get it myself.

The video quality is all over the place. It looks like some were taken off vhs from the early 80s, and the others were taken off 90s British television when it reran. All episodes are watchable however, and honestly I for one enjoy a little fuzz in my reruns (takes me back to my uhf rabbit ear days)!

Advanced reviews I've read of the Castle set said that the GHOST STORY episodes looked great.Hopefully it will turn up on DVD (I wish DARKROOM would too).I vaguely recall the show, more like images from it than actual plots.Love to revisit it.

I have all the episodes of Darkroom on DVD-R. About 10 years ago, Scifi ran it and I taped them all on VHS. I've dubbed them to DVD-R. Some good episodes! With Ghost Story, I'm the same way as you, just images!

These look quite good, well worth the $34 I paid. They're Progressive encoded, and almost certainly newly transferred from the original film elements. The detail and colors are sharp, probably looking far better than when this has aired on TV in the past.

Oddly, all 6 discs are dual-layer DVD-R's. I've personally never encountered dual-layer DVD-R's on an M.O.D. release before this.

No features of any kind, as expected. No optional subtitles either, so if you're deaf...you're shit out of luck.

It was around $39 as a pre-order at DVDPlanet, and I had a $5 off coupon they sent through snailmail.
