You'd think they'd at least release the director's cut version from the Warner Archive Collection.

Bigger and better news will be when this cut comes to dvd and blu. Mega news would be that they've found the lost negatives.
These screenings are great and all but living in Aus, the only way I'm going to get to see this is on dvd or blu.

I would like to think if they have something they can show projected at a theater, they should be able to make a BD from it! Unless they are just screening VHS tapes, which wouldn't be worth the bother would it?

So far it's just VHS tapes. The missing footage apparently hasn't been found on negative yet but is said to exist. I'm hoping all the good word of these screenings will prompt Morgan Creek (I think that's who owns it) to locate the footage and give it a proper release. I just want to see the film in the meantime.

It still seems like if it's good enough to show in a theater, it's good enough for blu-ray. Neagtives would be ideal, but after years of waiting and rumors I just want to see it anyway possible.
If I was anywhere near LA I'd go to that screening, anyone here gonna make it to that? Would love to hear back about the quality of the new stuff and the overall new film. |

I saw a trailer on Bloody Disgusting with some of the new footage and the quality didn't look great. You can tell it's from a VHS because it's dull and less clear.

You can see the trailer for the extended cut here.
http://videoraiders.net/8900/cabal-d...eroffentlicht/ And no, the quality is not good at all. I'd love to see the new footage, but I wonder if this would work better as an extra on the theatrical cut Blu Ray. |

It's hard to believe a lower generation copy doesn't exist. This trailer makes the H6 Producer's Cut look like Blu-ray quality by comparison.
Hopefully the negatives turn up at some point. What is it with Morgan Creek and their archives? They can't find Blatty's additional Exorcist III footage either. |
