The Exorcist - Remake

The Exorcist will be remade, but not as a full length feature.

It will be remade as a television series. Basically a ten-episode mini series. Sean Durkin will be directing the project.

I suddenly feel the urge to violently plunge a crucifix into my own asshole, Siegfried and Roy style, and curse the faithless scum who came up with this idea. Merrin!!

It seems that they will be downplaying the priest's struggle with his faith, which was pretty central to the original. I know that I'll at least watch the first episode out of curiosity... unless it looks as bad as the miniseries of The Shining.

I know I am in the minority here, but I could see this working. I doubt it will, but I think there is a lot of room for expansion to the original Exorcist.

I know I've said elsewhere, but I am not a big fan of the original. I respect it more than I like it. And, even with the slapped on ending, I think E-III is still the more interesting film.

In particular, I'd like to see more about the issues of faith and science explored. I the original touches on Damien's loss of faith, but I want to see him really get into it. I'd like to see more exchanges between Chris, Damien and Merrin that allows for these differing viewpoints on faith to come completely to the surface.

Furthermore, I've always wanted a bit more of an explanation of what the Devil's plan for Regan is as that's always been a bit of a weak spot with me for the film.

Granted, it probably will suck. But, considering how much better the writing has been for television over the part few years, I am willing to give the a chance.

So is this going to air on a censored TV station then... or what?

Will it be "Let Jesus fuck you" , or "Let Jesus pork you" ?

Since watching Al Pacino's Cruising a few nights ago, I've broadened my horizons.
