Yeah, it's indeed annoying. You can tell Maria's not a fan of the majority of these films. I'm really not convinced that she's even seen some of the films she presents. Of course I could be completely wrong, but that's the general impression I get from her presentations.

Katarina on the other hand is fun to listen to, and her skits are original and a pleasant intro/outro to the movie(s). She always has trivia bits thrown in about the films.

I'm not saying that Maria couldn't do an interesting skit on one of the Code Red releases... it just needs a complete overhaul in tone and writing style.

Glad to read about the quality improvement on The Hearse. The old Rhino 16x9 DVD (appears to be OOP) looks pretty bad upscaled on my LCD.

Ridiculously bad news about Scorpion's THE INCUBUS. Well, no need to replace my Elite DVD then. Walter responded to my query about the movie on Rock! Shock! Pop!

"I appreciate your enthusiasm for THE INCUBUS. The title will be released in January, but I have to disappoint you. I am using the old master Elite used. I very much wanted to create a brand new master, but the licensors no longer have film elements for this title. I contacted Elite and they told me they returned the 35mm elements that were loaned to them by Liberation, which later became Camelot. The good folks at Camelot checked their vaults and either the holding facility misplaced it when it was returned, or somehow it got lost in the mail when Elite returned it. Or, what I am suspecting, the folks who ran Liberation didn't seem too keen on holding 35mm elements back in the day, and felt old 3/4 inch masters were still good to use, as they were always upset when MB wanted to create new masters from 35mm elements. So I suspect they might have thrown it away to save storage space once Elite was done with their transfer. I know for some other films the elements that were once there when MB made a deal with them have also now disappeared. This is no fault of the good folks at Camelot, of course, so I’ve been searching for preprint elements for almost 2 years now, and have looked at various prints, but ultimately I had no choice but to go with Elite’s master. I really wanted to have John Hough's involvement, but as mentioned previously, he changed his mind at the last minute. And requests to two of the key actresses were rejected. So this is why this title will go out with a low MSRP, and at least it will give those who missed out on Elite’s disc a chance to but it, instead of paying ridiculous prices from second hand sellers."

Damn, that's horrible news. Liberation were obviously a truly shitty studio.

At least this thankfully didn't happen with the Scorpion re-release of The House on Sorority Row.

I don't think Liberation ever used the original film elements on their DVD releases actually, HOSR was just the copied Elite transfer with digital tinkering. They released a lot of their DVD's simply sourced from antiquated old video masters, or sometimes just worn VHS tapes.

Well the Liberation DVD of JOYSTICK was worse looking than the old Vestron video, so obviously they did not like to use film elements. Glad Scorpion was able to use film elements for the new JOYSTICK release.

That sucks about The Incubus. One of my favourite possession films to come out of the Great White North.

A shame about The Incubus. Looks like it has gone the way of American Nightmare, though at least it won't look any worse than the Elite DVD.

Thankfully other Camelot titles like House on Sorority Row and Mortuary had elements, and they look fantastic!

Doesn't it seem like the image is stretched horizontally (re: Joysticks)? The reviewer mentions ""Cinemascope mumps", but I don't know if that's what he's referring to...
