Because You Asked For It... Paranormal Activity 4 Trailer!

I know I happen to be one of the few on this thread that is in love with this series, and I have no problem admitting that I'm beyond excited to see the 4th installment this October! It looks like were are going to FINALLY get some answers as the series finally starts moving into the present instead of further into the past. Now, without further adue, here's the trailer:

Movie might turn out to be interesting or passable at best. Still the trailer kind of sucks and does nothing for me. If I see any of you with a boner over this I might lose some respect for ya.

I think this series is getting better as it goes along. I was honestly bored to tears by the first, second was a bit better, and I thought the third was actually pretty good with a couple of great moments (the sheet, and the hair lift). I'll see the 4th one at some point.

Hated the first two, thought PA3 had its moments. All of the trailers for these films look the same to me and are not very compelling, to me anyway.

Ughhhhhh. I'll still be seeing it to review it for a radio show I co-host, but still.... enough all ready. This premise has been stretched out way too far.

The trailers all look the same because the movies are all the same. Seriously, they're indistinguishable.

My 9 year old loves these, which is my only interest. I have never actually watched any.

I agree that each successive installment has improved. By the third one, I was really digging it so I have *some* hope for the fourth.

These films are all about the same for me. I saw the first one theatrically. The second I rented the blu-ray from Netflix. The third one I bought after it dropped to $7.99 on Amazon. All the films had a couple of scenes of interest but I find them very interchangable.

Saw this today and enjoyed it well enough. It's probably the least of a very good series, most of the film doesn't offer too much that you wouldn't expect but it does have a very good ending.

Just got back from this bore fest. I enjoyed the other three, but this seemed to make almost no attempt to be creepy. At 95 minutes this was a chore to get through save the final 2 minutes.

Soxfan nailed it.

I like it a smidge more than 2 just because I found the two teenage leads in 4 to be extremely likable, but everything else was underwhelming. 5 really needs to shake things up. The change of location hinted at in the credit cookie is a good start. I'd also suggest switching to a found footage/traditional film hybrid, or at least find some creative way to cheat the found footage gimmick (ala Chronicle). The found footage gimmick as used in the PA movies has officially been stretched to the breaking point.

I thought the film was pretty uninspired, they really didn't try to do anything different or push any of the set-pieces like they did in the surprisingly engaging previous outing. Just more of the same, which is fine and enjoyable enough, but nothing that really stands out. It's the price of admission and little more, a series that at least at this point seems to be out of ideas. The Kinect infrared thing was pretty novel and probably about the only thing they did interesting with the whole surveillance horror angle, but even it seemed pretty telegraphed (with the leads pointing out first thing that the tracking beads had moved, so then we as an audience know exactly what to look for the rest of the way out). The best parts of the other films were when we could look at a seemingly empty frame and try to spot differences and try to figure out where the next scare would come from. Here the scares were mostly just put in via completely arbitrary jump cuts and stingers (this franchise's equivalent to the "Just the cat" scare, although it does have some of those, too!). Just put the camera down and let the audience do a little work - the audience at the theaters I've seen these films at always seems to go most crazy when nothing is going on and they know that no corner of the frame is safe.
