I love the Dimension version that was just released a couple years ago, but the best one as far as features is the Elite Millenium ed. I remember that was one of my most expensive find as well as my most prized at the time. Its really funny how no companey wants to invest in a blu ray for here in american. They have to know it will sell like hot cakes.

I don't believe I've seen "Reflections on the Living Dead." I'll have to pick that up. Thanks!

Yes, and that's an issue that supposedly plagues nearly all of the Blu-Ray releases of NOTLD. As far as I know, the only known exception is the Network UK Blu-Ray, but there's other quality issues including missing footage that supposedly plague that one.

So as far as the blu-ray versions go. What is the final verdict best version?

I think the Japanese version would be the best...it's the same "zoomed" in transfer but its at a higher bitrate than Optimum's release.
I'd pass on the Network release due to the missing footage and a/v issues. |

The Dimension transfer was cropped on all four sides in certain scenes, which makes it appear to be zoomed in.
Here's a review from DVDBeaver which has selected screencap comparisons of multiple DVD editions and the Optimum UK Blu-Ray. The Optimum Blu-Ray also uses the Dimension Transfer. In the screen cap of Johnny and Barbara with Johny holding the grave decoration and Barbara trying to make a phone call the Dimension transfer has no cropping, while the following two screencaps of Ben holding a torch and then holding the shotgun there is evident cropping. |

That zoomed in crap really sucks ass ruins the film. I'm just going to wait for a legit release with that zoomed crap fixed. With my luck this will just end up getting released zoomed anyway.

I just bought this. The subtitles can be turned off. The transfer is the same as the Happinet bd. It is a BD50, however it is region B locked. The 80 minute documentary "Reflections of the Dead" is awesome. It was filmed in the early nineties, and features a round table discussion with Romero, Streiner, Hardman and Russo. Later on, Hardman and Eastman go over photos taken from the film and then discuss the music. Finally, there is an interview with Judith O'Dea. There are also interviews from Hooper, Craven, Landis and more. The disc also contains the "One for the Fire" documentary. Bottom line, if you're region-free, this is the version to buy in my opinion (I have nine different blu-rays of this film).
