Held off on buying movies for the last couple of months, own too many discs I haven't watched already, but I couldn't resist picking up the new editions of Rashomon and Rosemary's Baby at 50% off.

I picked up Fincher's The Game Blu-ray yesterday in store. I was able to use a 20% off coupon, so the grand total was under $15.
And she didn't even blow me. Damn whores!

I have:
Spoorloos High and Low (minus the cover )Night and Fog Man Bites Dog Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Sweet Movie The Third Man Hidden Fortress Halloween LD Taxi Driver LD Just picked up: Salo House Cronos Brazil I want: Naked Lunch Videodrome Rosemary's Baby M Peeping Tom Hearts and Minds Wouldn't Mind: Spartacus(almost picked it up at Rasputin's yesterday for $15 but passed) Straw Dogs (Same) Equinox Blob Carnival of Souls Silence of the Lambs Being John Malcovitch Throne of Blood Kwaiden Meaning of life Bicycle Thieves Diabolique Robocop Dazed and Confused Seventh Seal Flesh For Frankenstein Blood for Dracula The Killers Antichrist However I own most of my wants and wouldn't minds in some other form outside of Criterion so it's not a huge rush or anything and some of them are pretty obsolete (just want them because they are Criterion)... I am getting Rosemary's Baby... I'm trying to decide between Naked Lunch or Videodrome for my last purchase... Last edited by NaturesMistake; 11-12-2012 at 11:29 PM. |

Naked Lunch is a good release, but Videodrome is probably my favorite Criterion release. The commentaries by Cronenberg and James Woods are equally engaging and the discussion between Cronenberg, John Carpenter, John Landis, and Mick Garris is maybe my favorite special feature ever.

My buddy's just getting back to Toronto after having worked on the Obama campaign since April so I asked him to grab the blus of Rosemary's Baby and Harold & Maude. $45. No shipping. Score.

Brazil has been confirmed by Criterion for a Blu-ray re-release so I'd return/cancel that one if I were you.
The ironic thing about this sale is that I always put off my Criterion purchases for this sale, and then when the sale comes I put it off some more because I can wait for the next sale (spend my money for other holiday sales). So I haven't bought Criterion for several years now. I think House was the last.

I actually found the three disk set of Brazil for 15 bones used at Rasputins after I bought the single disk. I have a digital download of it and enjoy the film, but I'm not a superfan and decided to keep the single disk for the commentary (still haven't opened it). I ended up buying Rosemary's Baby and Videodrome last night
The Videodrome set is awesome! I opted for the Rosemary's Baby dvd instead of the blu however to save five bucks. On another note, watched Antichrist again last night. The film is interesting but not worth investing in a Criterion for it so I'll save myself the room... lol... Trying to kick that collectors bug because I have other expenses and have an even more dangerous hobby... my car :/ Thanks for the help guys! Last edited by NaturesMistake; 11-14-2012 at 11:03 PM. |

I wonder when B&N is going to condescend to ship my copy of the Shochiku Horror set.
