Have the Steelbook and the individual Arrow Blu releases yet will still happily buy all versions Synapse releases as well. These two films were just that big of a deal to me growing up and still to this day. No hesitation.

I hated Demons 2 when I first saw it on VHS many years ago, but that was a cut version I believe. I've since grown to be very fond of the film (uncut of course) over the years.

Is this the big announcement? I'm slightly disappointed, because I already have the Arrow blu-ray, and I didn't care enough for the movie to want to upgrade.

But I hope this release makes Synapse some money so they can move on to other things. I'd gladly upgrade if they revisited Blue Sunshine, Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural, or Patrick, on blu-ray.

I have the Anchor Bay release of both Demons 1 and 2. Not sure if it's worth the upgrade.

I'm a bit blown away that everyone is claiming Demons 2 was so heavily edited on VHS. I first saw it on a VHS tape around 2003 and bought the AB DVD a year or so later. I seriously didn't notice ANY difference as far as gore was concerned. Demons 2 was a pretty tame film.

Got the Blu-ray steelbook UK release but will definitely upgrade if this has the Dolby Stereo track, as the soundtrack is such an important part of the experience.

Looks like these were the couple of titles Don wanted to "blurt out" earlier. Spawningblue hit that right on the head. I'm still left wondering where Dawn now lies. All we know is that it's not with Shout or Anchor Bay.

I was hoping Don's secret titles were The Final Terror. Or The Prey. Or Mutilator. Or something not yet released. I'm still buying these - I'll be able to pop in the Synapse disc without worrying if my player wants to play the disc or not, like my region-free machine is doing right now.

Those of us talking about the edited version are referring to the original VHS, from like in 1988. It's likely that the VHS you saw in 2003 was an uncut version, that coincided with the release of the DVD (from those days when they had to release a VHS version in addition to DVD/LD)

Maybe it depend of the version, because the french dub released of Demon 2 we got on VHS here was the same than what was on the AB DVD.

edit : Just notice that Shlockjock81 is also Canadian, so I bet we got the same version (just in a different language) as the canadian rating boards are less cut happy than your US counterpart. I saw it way before the year 2000, probably in the early nineties.
