Is the Basket Case trilogy completely region free? I know the Return of the Living Dead was only region free by a work around, but a lot of the extras still couldn't be viewed on a Region A player.

100% region free. I watched all 3 and all the special features no problem on a US PS3

I have checked the BBFC website and the film is listed as uncut, the running time is about 1 minute longer than previous release, so the director's cut is being released here, i prefer the artwork and the steel tin and as i live in the UK, i think this is the way for me to go, nice selection of extra's as well, 'Monsters and Slime - The Effects of From Beyond' really interestes me, i love anything about special effects, just hope is longer that a couple of minutes.

UK for me too, since i leave here and the transfer from the original neg at 4K should look great. Unless Shout can match it.

My money's on the UK release. Shout works with whatever materials are handed over to them, and while some of their DVDs have looked nice, MGM's transfers overall haven't historically been the best that they can be. They rarely create 4K masters for their A-list films, let alone deep catalog titles.
