The Descent coming to 3D blu-ray

I love The Descent. But I'm not sure there needs to be a 3D version. The article picked a good image of Shauna Macdonald's character that expresses that it seems.

This would have been interesting if it had been shot in 3D. Usually 3D is used to give a sense of big, wide open spaces. I don't think I've seen it used to increase a sense of claustrophobia. And, since this film did manage to convey claustrophobia in spades, I would be curious to see how that would work with a 3D effect.

But, as a conversion, I can't say that I am too intrigued.

If a film wasn't natively shot in 3D, I could really care less. Even most films that were shot in 3D does nothing for me.

I haven't seen it (it's tough catching up on Herzog films as he makes so many), but this would seem to suggest 3-D used in such a way. Obviously it's not a genre film, but I would have liked to see how this looked.
