I knew Anchor Bay lost Tenebre but I didn't know they lost Phenomena too!
Whoever's in charge of Anchor Bay's site really needs to update it. However, this is wonderful news since we're getting new editions of Tenebre and Phenomena. They're on my list! Last edited by Nailwraps; 01-28-2013 at 08:26 PM. |

I just wish Anchor Bay would give up Halloween to a company like Synapse or Shout who actually give a shit, but I don't ever see that happening. We'll just keep getting bullshit anniversary editions that recycle the same old shit with different cover art. If Anchor Bay no longer has Dawn, which I'm praying to God to be the case, I'd love to see that go to Synapse.

Awesome news, glad I held off on the French Blu-ray of Tenebre. I'm somewhat concerned with Don not explicitly saying Demons 1/2 will be new transfers. Arrow's releases show there's a diamond in the rough there so maybe there really was an excellent telecine under Arrow's transfers.
Dawn of the Dead is a pretty big question mark now. I was starting to lean away from Synapse having it after Don announced Demons 1/2, but now with this revelation I'm starting to lean towards Synapse having Dawn again. It just seems to me, why pick up all of these when you could have Dawn instead? I suspect they bought them all but passed on Day. You spent most of your cash on Dawn and picked up some other notable titles for probably less. Day could be the odd man out. We know Shout doesn't have it and I doubt Blue Underground would the way they're doing things. I almost wonder if Kino picked it up because they're doing a lot of different stuff now, including the Bava stuff off Anchor Bay and even picked up Grapes of Death from Synapse. Seems like I'm forgetting somebody....

Glad I held off on Arrow's releases. I'm sure the Synapse discs will have better transfers, but I'll wait till we get an announcement on bonus features before I make a decision on which version to pick up.

Great news. Hoping Opera and Suspiria aren't far behind!

I would kill for Opera on blu-ray. It's hands down my favorite Argento film.

Not sure about who has Opera. I have a pretty good rip of the European Suspiria blu-ray and all of the complaints about colors aside, it will hold me over until something comes out domestically.
