I just watched the old Predator Blu-ray last night, and I honestly much prefer that transfer compared to viewing the DNR-Raped Blu-ray last week.
Sure it appears grainy at times, but it truly looks like "film" and gritty the way Predator was intended to look. Watching the new Blu-ray makes the film look like a damn 1080p video game.

I guess I'm in the minority...I didn't mind the new transfer. Anyone who wants the original BD , I have a copy on eBay for .99.

I was glancing through the new Rue Morgue issue, and they reviewed the disc and simply raved that it was simply a beautiful, flawless "restoration" (or however they worded it). Uh huh.

I just saw this:
http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Predat...Blu-ray/41388/ Does anyone own it and can tell if it's the good or bad transfer of Predator?

Ah ok. Does anyone know if the UK/Aus blus are any better with the picture quality?

I have the first blu-ray release - avoided the ultimate hunter edition due to the bad reviews

I have both. When I want to watch the film itself I throw in the first blu-ray release and I use the Ultimate Hunter Edition basically as a bonus disc since it has all the extras.

I just want an edition with a good quality print. I'm only going to watch the extra features once and be done with them.
