Aussie trailer for Bloody Birthday shows part of uncut scene? (Spoilers)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5wFqCJkOgY
This trailer shows Steven actually hit Sheriff Brody with the baseball bat. The theatrical version only implies the violence by using realistic sound effects. Does anyone know if this movie was cut before release or if there are longer, international versions available? This movie came out in 1981 when everything else was getting heavily censored: Friday the 13th Part 2, My Bloody Valentine, Happy Birthday to Me, Eyes of a Stranger, The Burning and The Prowler. I suppose it's possible the MPAA got their hands on this one too. |

![]() Wow. Upon seeing that, the movie looks even lamer than I recall! Does BB really have that F13 rip off soundtrack? I can't remember. Video Classics and others were all about making crap movies look fantastic. But even they can't spiffy up Bloody Birthday. |

Bloody Birthday is awesome. I've no idea whether its actually "cut" per se, but most trailers are produced using raw footage before the film itself reaches final edit, and often alternate takes wind up unknowingly being used.

I think this movie is great. The premise alone is great, and some of the acting from the children is actually pretty good.

Which dvd is the preferred version guys? Quality wise. Both are Anamorphic & Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono.
VCI (2003) or Severin Films (2011) |

The Severin DVD is way better than the VCI one. It misses out on an interview with the producer but the transfer is in HD and sourced from the original negative.

Thanks DanceEnergy24. Glad to hear, because I'm more interested in the quality. So the Severin dvd would be the choice.
