They don't even really provide a review of the film itself. they copy and paste portions of critical reviews at the top of the page, and then offer a few sentences in the conclusion at the bottom about the reviewers personal opinion, but its not set up as a subjective review site at all.

Same issue in Vermont this weekend, I long ago received my copy from amazon.ca, but no sign of the blu-ray at either FYEs in Burlington. I thought this quite strange.
You're right about HMV as well, they have multiple copies of the They Live and The Funhouse blu-rays at my location.
Even had They Live on a display endcap for a short while.

Shocked to hear this -- I've always considered it an underrated favorite and was thrilled that Shout announced it for blu, hoping a higher profile release might buoy its reputation! Oh well, diff'rent strokes and all that...

Another THE NEST review, this time courtesy of Blu-Ray.com:

Yeah, The Nest is full of gory awesomeness. And Lisa Langlois is fine as ever too.

I watched the Deadly Blessing BD yesterday…ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz.

Haha….nah it wasn’t that bad. I’m not the biggest fan of Wes Craven, but this one was alright. It was kind of an odd attempt at a giallo I think. The tacked on supernatural elements felt kind of strange and out of place…especially the ending. But the rest sort of worked.

Great performances too…all the girls, especially Sharon Stone…damn what a fucken fox back then. What I wouldn’t give for just…damn. Ernest Borgnine was great as well.

Transfer looked pretty good I guess…wasn’t anything spectacular.

I didn’t get into any of the extras yet, but maybe I will another time.

I found The Nest to be a pleasant surprise with very Thing like gore sequences. It's been awhile I admit but I seem to recall it pretty much fulfilled all the genre requirements quite nicely. Both The Nest and Not of this Earth are worth checking out and it's too bad Not of the Earth isn't getting a HD release.

I'd pick up The Nest long before I'd pick up anything else by Craven.

I've been grabbing all the Scream Factory releases as they come out and recently watched these two. Deadly Blessing was a surprise as I remembered not liking it very much when I first saw it years ago on VHS, but this time I found myself quite taken with the suspense sequences. The story is a little all over the place, but I think the suspense scenes (especially the snake in the tub) are some of the best things Wes Craven has ever directed. The Nest was a first time viewing and I thought it was a lot of fun. As MisterTwister said earlier, it would make a perfect double feature with Ticks.

The Scream release looks slightly better to me. Colours look more natural. It also has the extra sound options and the extras seem more varied.

From the caps, I had the same impression. Arrow's looks slightly brighter, but Scream's looks more natural.

That said, the difference isn't big enough to matter. Both look like solid releases. I own the Scream release, and can definitely vouch for that one. It's a great disc. I would have liked to have the on-camera interview with Craven, but at least we get the one with Susan Buckner.

DVDBeaver just did a comparison as well the other day.

Yup, it was already posted above. Those are the screencaps I was referring to.
