I'm excited for the Leah Ayres interview. Loved her in this and Bloodsport. It will be interesting to see what she's up to now.

I gotta get a region free BD player. Cant see either of these getting releases in the UK. Would love The Burning on BD. I only own the Fleshwound video bootleg which was good for its time but looks a little tired now.

Looks like a pretty solid slate of extras. I wasn't sure who Justin Beahm was, so I looked him up. Apparently he's a bit of a HALLOWEEN "authority," authoring a book and producing some commentary tracks for the series. Jim Presley was a Texarkana Gazette reporter and has been interviewed on Unsolved Mysteries about the original case. Could be a really cool track, delving into what was inspired by fact and what was pure fiction.

Fantastic! I can't wait to revisit it. I've only seen it once, and it was an unofficial release of unexeptional quality - which didn't do it any favors. It's nice that the movie will finally be able to speak for itself.

For a less scholarly approach to reviewing The Burning, here's my review:

http://the-manchester-morgue.blogspo...lu-raydvd.html

Keep in mind my screenshots are from the DVD, making Blu-ray screenshots is not easy unless I plop down nearly $100 for AnyDVD. I'm trying to figure out a way around this, but it's a real bitch.

I'm almost done with my Town That Dreaded Sundown review. That's an odd movie, the horror parts are actually pretty intense and well done, especially the Dawn Wells scene, but I don't really enjoy the parts of the movie with the cops. And don't get me started on the out of place comedy relief. I actually like The Evictors more, for me it was tighter since it wasn't jumping between styles and it had a better story. Town doesn't really have a lot of story, you can tell it in one sentence. "An unknown man killed five people in Arkansas in the 40's and they never found out who he was or why he did it." Not a bad movie at all, not trying to sound like I hated it, I'm just not too big on it.

Yeah, I'm certainly not an authority on picture quality or anything, I'm not one to worry too much about imperfections in video quality usually. When I started reviewing I figured I'd just let the screenshots do the talking, so I need to figure something out that works for me to do the Blu-ray shots.

Okay, I found a temporary solution. They're JPEGs so there's probably a bit of compression, but this should give a good idea of what it looks like. I'm working on posting the Blu-ray shots now but blogger has been taking an eternity to upload lately. So here are a few shots for now, check my review in like 20 minutes for more.

And the best shot of the movie, highly spoileriffic so don't click unless you know the ending:
