Michael Findlay's SNUFF (1976) from Blue Underground

This time with extras, apparently:

We were actually just reaching out to Roberta Findlay, because were putting out Snuff again as a Blu-ray. We have a lot of interesting extras to put on it. You know, what appeals to me is the mystique of the film. And what interests me is how [Allan Shackleton] took what was in the news about snuff movies, and created controversy around this awful movie by shooting some additional footage at the end. Also, him hiring protestors and the whole marketing campaign the guy did. All that stuff interested me. I think the movie itself is so bad, its unbelievable. But now were gonna give it to audiences in high definition. And in fact, I was just going over a scene in the movie with my associate. We were talking about color correction in a day-for-night scene, and I was telling him Make sure you can balance the shots. It was this really badly shot day-for-night footage. It was shot in South America, except for the end. The end was shot in Chelsea.

Glad to see Blue Underground still kicking.

But if we're talking Roberta Findlay, I'd much rather see her masterpiece Blood Sisters.

Yeah great to see they are releasing more to Blu. Still loads of their back caralogue I would love to upgrade to Blu though. I never bought Snuff the forst time around and have never actually seen it. Maybe tempted but dont want to pay money for a film which on the whole most people say is bad.

I actually kinda like SNUFF, but not enough to mount a defense for it. I've actually never seen the flick SLAUGHTER that comprises most of the running time; I probably should someday just to see how it properly ends!

If there's one Roberta Findlay flick I'd love on blu, it'd be TENEMENT. (I'd love to see a Something Weird blu of her and Michael's FLESH trilogy, too!)

You will have to wait for Shriek Show to release Tenement. They had to DVD a few years back I believe. So no no time soon to Blu then!!!!

Never got around to picking up the DVD, and despite it's negative reviews I still want to see it out of historical context so I will be grabbing the Blu.

The first time I saw this film was on my roommates import laserdisc. I have the DVD which I haven't even opened yet so I'll probably pass on the blu.

Not it isn't bad, just poorly dub (except for the carnival stock footage). I would get it again in a minute with extra materials. I would be so happy to see the real movie with the original ending someday, but I doubt it will ever happen...

PS : the quote isn't from Bruce, but the website linked.

edit: Hope they will do an effort to contact Simon Nuchtern since he is the one who shoot the fake ending, Carter Stevens since the fake end was shoot in his studio and he knows a lot about it and, impossible I guess, but Mirtha Massa who played Terry London who is always alive somewhere in Argentina.

Most of the Findlay's films would be great release on blu-ray, maybe not Mnadisicka but most of them...

Glad to see BU back but can't say I'm excited about this release. I would love if they released some of their other titles to Blu such as Stagefright, Blind Dead Collection, Opera, Blade in the Dark, Macabre, Nightmare City, Hell of the Living Dead, ect.

Raro picked up the rights to Nightmare City on Blu-Ray.

Are they actually going to have a red case? That would mean that Blue Underground releases a Blu-Ray with a red case... which is cool.
