This week's edition of DeadPit Radio is dedicated to the "Slashergate" scandal.

Any idea where the girl on the right in the Terror Train shirt came from? Pretty sure she's not from the movie.

Those cards on the tracks look odd, too...

Two weeks later... Slasher Design finally decides to issue an apology (of sorts)...

Quote:
"I would like to apologize to any and all that have either been affected, offended, or unsatisfied with any of my work. There was never any deceptive or malicious intent in mind. Having been working in art/design for nearly ten years and playing in a band for a majority of that earlier on, I was never made aware that some of the way I’ve worked and the work I had done was looked down upon. In portions of my work I often utilize a technique that I first learned in design school and eventually had heard of doing from other artists early on as well as of late… one in which you take a reference piece, paint over it and/or alter it to make it your own. When doing this it was always my intention to alter it enough to be considered my own. However, I understand that is a blurry line, and one I never wanted to cross. This is definitely a learning experience and my focus now is to evolve and for this to no longer be an issue. Again, I’m truly sorry for any pain I have caused."
I'm sorry but most instances were CLEARLY cut and paste jobs and not just "painted over" references.

The silhouette in the background of the Hester Prynne t-shirt design is from the back DVD cover of The Good German.

Another find on Bluray.com, the women in white from the Lifeforce cover.

And yeah, I'm not buying his apology, these are staright cut and pastes. Is there any proof that he can actually draw at all, because it seems like even the smallest details have been stolen from somewhere. He has definitely mastered photoshop though!

Sorry for the large size.

Totally different. One is black and white.
He also blacked out the cleavage, for shame.

Yeah, if you absolutely had to reference something, it would be the main object of whatever you're trying to draw. Maybe a popular actor's face or something. You shouldn't have to "reference" every single person running away screaming in terror on a poster. That's just pathetic.

Also, which thread did you find that in at Blu-ray.com? I must've missed it.

There have been posts in the Lifeforce thread and the Scream Factory thread. This one was revealed in the Lifeforce thread.
