I actually think Ghoulies IV is easily the best of the franchise. After the Ghoulies start talking, it's time to pack it in- which is why the "ghoulies" in that movie were actually new versions of Grizzel and Greedigut...only they're both male and one's black. I'll never watch GIII a second time.

(Wynorski pwns. Except Transylvania Twist is his Wicked Stepmother and Not of This Earth is his Full Moon High. And I assume everything after 1993 or thereabouts is probably unwatchable... Okay, shoot me already. )

I prefer HELLBOY 2:THE GOLDEN ARMY and 28 WEEKS LATER to their originals.I also prefer THE DEVIL'S REJECTS to HOUSE OF A 1,000 CORPSES.

Aliens better than Alien? I have lost faith in humanity. That's like saying Mother of Tears over Suspiria... okay, maybe not THAT bad but still.

The Road Warrior
The Dark Knight Rises
Halloween II (2009) over the 2007 film

Just as good as the first film:

Escape from LA
As good as NY?

I want what he's having.

I agree with most of the rest, but this must be good drugs.

I'd actually agree that Escape from LA is on par with the original. Both have their flaws, but I think the original really has some lulls during the middle that really could have used a tighten. LA has the terrible CGI going against it, but both have an equally diverse cast of interesting character actors, a wild dystopian vision, a great snarling performance from Russell and Carpenter's trademark nihilism. I'd give LA the nod for the better ending, too, one of my favorites from any genre. Welcome to the human race.

Escape From LA has definitely aged well. I think the bad CGI kind of works in it's favor, believe it or not. It's more obvious now that the surfing scene with obvious green screening was meant to be an homage to the old Frankie and Annette Beach Party movies. That's how I take it at least.

i'd buy an SE of Escape from LA. A Carpenter/Russell commentary would be enough.
