It's rather incredulous for the guy working on the remastering to say Don's complaints are made up. Stitching on the jeans is completely missing from one shot compared to the original. Obviously lots of good details are being thrown out with the bad. You can't make that up. And I 100% agree with Don that I'd rather keep some of the bad details if it means having all the good details. Even Criterion can learn a thing or two from this Mr. May Jr.

This is why Synapse is my favorite distributor.

I have no problems with some dirt and scratches poping up from time to time, it actually adds to the experience with these kind of movies.
Don sure knows the balance of how to clean up a transfer properly.

In a perfect world, ALL HD transfers should need the seal of approval from Don May Jr, before they were allowed to be put on a BD disc

I cant wait to see what he does with "Demons" and "Tenebre"

I'm fine with waiting if it's for the right reasons, which this definitely is. I wish more companies out there cared about the products they are releasing like Don May Jr. does.

I also received mine in the mail earlier today. The transfer looks outstanding. The Deleted Scenes/Outtakes are sourced from a VHS, but are definitely interesting to watch and a welcome addition. I haven't had a chance to watch the new Jane Arakawa interview.

And for those interested, the Blu-ray offers optional English subtitles for the film. That was also missing on the old DVD releases.

It's a replica of the label on the bottles of Tenafly Viper as seen in the film:

It's kind of cool, but I can't see myself actually using it.

It's basically just the same sticker (like zbinks posted above) that was included with the very first DVD release. I still have a couple of those...so I might actually use one somewhere this time around!
