The Town that Dreaded Sundown and The Burning are probably my favorite releases from Scream Factory so far. It's still hard to believe that The Town that Dreaded Sundown actually got a decent release. I was beginning to think I'd be stuck with a shitty VHS forever.

Watched Town last night - so awesome. Very pleased with the overall quality. Yeah, there's some white specs here and there mainly in the dark scenes, but who's complaining? The Phantom Killer is such a creepy mother fucker - love it.

Agreed. I watched Town last night for the first time in a long time and this has definitely found a spot in my top ten. Yeah, the cop hijinks did have their goofy moments which made the film a little disjointed, but when The Phantom Killer is on screen, not many films captured creepy quite like this one. Such a great flick.

Pretty much anything is game these days, I suppose. Thank goodness for companies like Shout who are able to strike deals with the studios. I don't know why they are so successful at it and others have not been (I'm sure there are other labels who have tried to license stuff from the likes of MGM), probably because they're a little more deep-pocketed and offer more $$$, who knows. I think we can all agree that there's a lot more in store for us for a good while.

Yup, some silly cop stuff that is awkward, but I like it when the dood goes "Spark Plug......SHUT UP!". And the fake boobie squeezin'

I liked The Town That Dreaded Sundown but it felt at times like a cheap TV movie of the week. Some of the acting and writing were pretty bad, although I thought Ben Johnson as Captain J.D. Morales was good. I agree though, the scenes with the killer were creepy and very well done. I found myself checking out my window before I went to bed haha. I would give it a 7 out of 10.

I've been wanted to see this for years, and finally watched it a few nights ago. I enjoyed it a lot. the scenes with the killer, while not exactly scary, were very well-done. the trombone thing was ridiculous, but ultimately still worked. the police stuff was also good. Even the stuff played for laughs was entertaining. As was the narration. just an overall very enjoyable film.

I watched The Evictors for the first time the other night. Not a bad little film with good suspense and some moderately creepy situations, but I must admit I was expecting a little bit more. This film seemed to receive a slight hype over the years, but maybe I just need to watch it again. Town that Dreaded Sundown is definitely a much better movie in my opinion and rightfully so should be the main feature. Totally awesome though that we got Evictors as a bonus.

Yeah definitely. I looked at some and the detail difference wasn't all that noticeable, but it is a nice increase in detail in others... like here and here for example.
