Jason Mears says that Platinum Dunes is partnering with Paramount for 'Friday the 13th' sequel.

Looks like it will be a follow-up to the 2009 remake.

Now that its back at Paramount, give us back the Harry Manfredini score and please no more kidnappings by Jason.

Since Platinum Dunes is co-producing this with Paramount, it's very likely we won't get Harry Manfredini back unless whoever directs it has a clause that lets him score it. (Like Sam Mendes' contract allowed him to use Thomas Newman to score Skyfall rather than David Arnold.)

We'll probably get another lackluster 'score' by Steve Jablonsky. That was the most disappointing thing about the remake. I doubt reusing Manfredini's themes will be on the agenda for the sequel either.

I wish to see a Friday the 13th film:
That takes place after Jason X were Jason gets captured by some scientist who were doing research on him then he brakes out and try's to attack them but they decide to hide in a time machine were Jason finds them and accidentally makes them travel back to the cave man area and the scientist teach the caveman how to properly fight Jason and then we have a big old battle of Jason against Caveman. Then the two scientist figured out how to live forever then they live to kill Pamela before she ever gave birth to Jason then Jason wouldn't exsist.

I believe the sequel they were planning to the remake was to be set at Crystal Lake during the winter but then it never came to fruition.
I remember reading this story. I didn't like it. I always thought that Friday the 13th should be in the summer months.

I can't wait for another Friday the 13th. I didn't like the 2009 movie. I think I posted a review about it on the Horror.com forum. The movie had a few good kills and it looked good. But as with all the other bad Friday the 13th movies, it had some really stupid and unlikeable characters. The good ones always have a good majority of likeable characters. Part 2 and Part 6 being the best to me. Even Part 8 and Jason X have likeable characters. Aside from the Supernatural guy and Danielle Panabaker's character. I didn't care about the others getting it from Jason.

I think the next movie should try to come up with more creative kills, rather than having Jason slashing kids with his trusty machete.
