What new transfer???

It is the same transfer that exists in Europe for years.

My bad, I just meant the new Scream Factory disc. I remember people saying they weren't going to buy it because it's a bad transfer.

I'm not region free, nor do I import very often (I think I have 3 imported discs). So for those of us in the US, this looks like another great release from Scream Factory.

Here's a couple more upcoming DVD releases due out on September 3rd:

Movies 4 You - Sci-Fi Classics (MGM films)

4 classic films from MGM!

The Man from Planet X
A reporter in the Scottish Highlands is confronted by a friendly alien who pleads for aid for his freezing planet.

Beyond the Time Barrier
A U.S. Air Force test pilot crashes through the time barrier into the world of 2024, which is inhabited by the last remnants of Earth's civilization that escaped the cosmic plague of 1971.

The Time Travelers
A scientist steps through a time portal, travels 107 years into the future and finds a barren underground post-nuclear war world where a handful of "normal humans" are being attacked by mutants.

The Angry Red Planet
An expedition to Mars runs into all sorts of alien terrors, including unfriendly Martian plants and a terrifying kind of giant mouse/spider hybrid.

Movies 4 You - More Sci-Fi Classics (MGM Films)

4 more classic films from MGM!

The Amazing Transparent Man
From cult director Edgar G. Ulmer, a mad scientist experiments with a serum to make man transparent and uses an escaped convict to rob a bank. But...Scotland Yard moves in.

Reptilicus
The frozen tail of a giant reptile is accidentally discovered. When it begins to thaw, the creature regenerates into a full-sized monster.

The Neanderthal Man
A mad scientist transforms himself into a prehistoric caveman, his cat into a saber-toothed tiger, and his housekeeper into an ape person, which does not enhance his popularity.

The Brain That Wouldn't Die
To restore the life of his fiancée, a brilliant surgeon tries to find a suitable body to attach to her head, which he keeps alive and locked in a dungeon. Includes a bonus deleted scene from International prints.

"Wouldn't die? Or couldn't die?"

was it not also one of the earlier synapse releases? is that one now OOP?

these seem like some pretty Z-grade productions. they don't seem to have the significance of some similar releases in the roger corman collection. so i'm not sure how much I need to have them in my collection. although, for such ridiculously low prices, I may just end up grabbing them anyways.

It is, but I doubt it's going OOP as a result of this release. I'm pretty sure this particular film is public domain.

I've sent Shout an email asking them to consider getting the rights to release House, House 2 The Second Story, House 4, and The Birds 2- Land's End. I forgot to ask that they release these on blu-ray though. Hopefully someone there will read and seriously consider getting the rights to release them on BD.

The problem is:

-House 1-2 are owned by Image through their deal with Lakeshore

-House IV I think is with New Line and as far as we know, Warner won't budge sub-licensing movies

The Birds II however, they can possibly acquire since it's Universal.

That said, here's the Blu-ray.com review for The Producers '68:

Darn, that stinks. Well, hopefully Image will release the first two House films on blu-ray at some point.

Anyone else order The Howling from Amazon and not have it ship yet? In all the years ordering from Amazon, I have never had an order still not shipped out this late on release day. Do they have someone new in charge over there or something because their service has really been lacking lately.
