All 88 Films Blu-rays do have lossless DTS-HD Master Audio, along with the original "Stereo" tracks which are also lossless. They did not use a 5.1 mix on their Puppet Master 2 Blu-ray release because what Full Moon gave them was faulty and not mixed correctly.

The 88 Films' Subspecies Blu-rays do not include Booklets though. That was only for the 3 Puppet Master Blu-ray releases. They all do have reversible coverart however.

Thanks, I updated the info.

Does that mean the audio on the UK PM II Blu disc is in the corrected (NTSC) pitch unlike the US disc?

found the subspecies box set at HMV for $14.99. normally i would hold out and pick up the superior 88 films version of part I. however, i've never seen any of these, and since i'm trying to seriously curtail my dvd/bd buying these days, if i hadn't picked these up, i probably wouldn't have ever bought them. that said, its still gonna bug me that i'm missing supplements. can anybody who has the 88 films release comment on the quality of the exclusive extras? are they high quality, in terms of content?

Here's some pics of the 88 Films Blu-ray artwork/case of Castle Freak. It looks like it will also include a booklet.

I order them from Amazon UK. The Castle Freak pre-order even went down to 5.83 a long time ago, which is nearly half what it is now.

Wow, the UK release looks leaps and bounds better judging from that picture! I just got my copy in the mail today too!

Yeah, the UK disc has a better encode... not surprising really. Barbara Crampton's face on that comparison is a dead giveaway to that fact.

That and the lossless audio are why I always go with the 88 Films releases.

The slight framing difference is curious, but nothing game changing there.

Sometimes it can get hard to tell but not here. 88Films transfer is a lot clearer compared to the dark looking Full Moon disc. I'm shocked (but not too shocked) that Full Moon released this one looking so average.

Looks like I will have to throw in the extra dough soon and pick up the Subspecies sequels from 88.

I'll hopefully snag some of these soon. I still have most Full Moon movies on LD and while the PCM soundtrack is nice, pic quality is barely better than a pristine vhs copy. 'Also still have fingers crossed for a decent release of Arcade.
