Be interested to see how the new transfer looks for DOTD, The UK version was horizontally stretched, Very distracting & the AB Blu had the dialogue changes.

I'm not a huge fan of these two either (I do like them though), but I'm getting them simply because I never bought them on DVD.

So far, I've gotten all the Scream Factory releases except for The Island, The Vampire Lovers, and Dead Souls. I've even been picking up most of the Shout Factory releases, like Joshua Tree, Rolling Thunder, Cold Prey II, Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry / Race With The Devil, etc. Cohen & Tate shipped out on Wednesday and should be here early next week.

According to Cliff, Anchor Bay wanted way too much money for their DAY OF THE DEAD documentary, so Shout made a new one. It apparently runs over an hour, so it should be a nice replacement. Also, the tour of the mines is a brand new featurette.

Here is an update that Michael Felsher from Red Shirt Pictures put up on Facebook:

"I would like to extend my deepest and most heartfelt thanks to my producers, editors, cinematographers, and the cast & crew of DAY OF THE DEAD for all their incredible efforts that have led to the creation of THE WORLD'S END: THE MAKING OF DAY OF THE DEAD which will be featured on the upcoming BluRay release of George Romero's third classic "Dead" film in September. It's nearly 90 minutes of incredible work from the Red Shirt Pictures team that I think may be the best thing we've done yet. Of course, I'm biased, but screw it... "

So this looks to be the most comprehensive doc yet for a Scream Factory release. Definitely makes me more interested in the release and guarantees my purchase.

i dunno whats going on. shout explicitly told me that scanners 2/3 would not be available in canada. however, a preorder is up on amazon.ca. it just says "import" next to it. so hell, i dunno what to do. i preordered it ($28) and i guess i'll just keep an eye on both preorders and cancel whichever one is more expensive just before release date.

I don't think they have the rights here in Canada, but Amazon.ca for some reason Amazon.ca usually offers the US version of titles for pre-order as well, usually for the same price if not a $1 more or a $1 less (Good for those that hate bilingual cover!). It looks like this is the case here. The good thing is it will probably drop to $20 before release like most of these Scream titles and it won't cost us anymore extra for Shipping!

Don't feel bad, the Shout blu-ray will be my fifth version of Day on BD. I also have the U.S. Anchor Bay/Starz!, U.K. Arrow (best extras), Austrailian Umbrella and Japanese Happinet (best cover/packaging).

I wonder if the commentary is the one he did with Peter Jason about 10 years ago or a newly recorded one? I would think it's the old track, but he did just record another commentary for Halloween.

Disappointed that Psycho II doesn't seem to be quite as packed a disc as III, but who knows. The vintage interviews could be great and the commentary with Holland is the most exciting feature on either film. Overall I'm very happy with the announced supplements for the September slate of Scream releases.
