Eh... I'm not too crazy about most of the films from this year, but if I had to pick 5:
"Through unlit corridors of purest oblivion.
Submerged in a sea of darkness without end.
To feel nothing...hear nothing...for a thousand eternities." - Evoken - Quietus

Scream, naturally- one of the best of the decade.
Mary Reilly is seriously underrated. In fact, for the Hollywood "not-horror" taint all over this year in particular... this movie is pretty damn graphic.
And... Bordello of Blood doesn't suck. I had my expectations low too and I enjoyed 70% of it. In fact, since I watched it 3 months ago, some scenes had me in near-orgasm... because they actually understand that horror needs dark, nuanced characterization (and Angie Everhart was surprisingly good at this but her manipulation of men...and women in the movie was just really well visualized), the gore needs to be worked up toward and shot brilliantly, and the bad in the movie wasn't so bad I wanted to hurt someone... It was like a gift. Someone gave me a gift: a refresher from The Scum Millennium to follow.
Just 'cuz, you should be reading it.
