Zod's a General, not a Major. Sorry, couldn't resist.

I was HUGELY let down by MoS. And I really like Snyder and Nolan on their own. I suppose it's fine as a general action film. It certainly has a lot of destruction in it. But, with the exception of a few pre-costume scenes, it never felt like a Superman film. It lacks the sense of awe, inspiration, and heroism that I believe is the core of the character.

Shannon's Zod is an interesting take on the character, but I'll admit to preferring the slimy arrogance of Stamp's performance. But, as the character is written, Shannon is pretty excellent.

Spoiler:
one point of note is that in terms of motivation, Zod is actually more of an heroic character than Superman

And, I, like the others can't really see Afleck as Batman. He is best in his "common man" roles. And neither aspect of Batman seems suited to his strengths.

I'll let you in on a secret, I hate Ben Affleck. I only like him when he's playing a bad guy (like Mallrats).

Here's another secret, Batman's my favorite superhero. I'm going to pretend this isn't happening.

I'm down with this. Affleck has really proven himself in the last few years, Acting and Directing wise. I think he will be a great Bruce Wayne (Watch Hollywoodland). As for Batman, although it never bothered me too much, at least we'll be able to understand what he is saying, instead of grumbling through all his lines. And come on people, Daredevil wasn't his fault, and isn't as bad as many make it out to be, especially if you watch the Director's Cut.

I like Affleck, too. Plus, he's a solid writer and director. As long as he drops Bale's "Batman voice," I think he will be on par with or better than previous iterations.

Jesse Eisenberg is Lex Luthor, and Jeremy Irons is Alfred.

I'm actually excited for the project...but Eisenberg is a TERRIBLE choice as Luthor.

People said the same thing about Heath Ledger and he wound up nailing it. I have my doubts about Eisenberg but will hold my tongue until I see the first clips.

There comes a point when fanboys bitch about every single bit of news just to bitch. This is one of those points.

I have beee pumped for this movie and even think ben Affleck will be a great Batman, but I'm not a fan of this casting at all! They went from Joaquin Phoenix and Bryan Cranston to... Eisenberg!? I liked him in Social Network and Zombieland, but in every movie he looks and acts like he is an awkward 20 year old. I don't care if he is actually 30, he doesn't look or act it. The only good that comes out of this is maybe we can get Cranston as Gordon.

As for Jeremy Irons, again he can be a good actor, but I don't see him as Alfred. He is too cold, and every time has does a big budget blockbuster he hams it up.

First a skinny Wonder Woman, then the delay, this movie is really losing my interest with every press release.

They should just make this whole movie about Batman ski jumping over a tank of sharks....Superman would of course just fly right over them!

Agree. The train has left the station. I almost miss not knowing what the cast was gonna be until the movie was out so I wasn't wondering what "x" actor would have done with the role.
