Hmmm...might pick up Assault on Precinct 13 for the new Wallace, Loomis, Stoker interviews, but I still don't think its worth a double dip...wish they could have scored some new material with Carpenter himself.

From Shout!'s Facebook!:

"An official update on our Bruce Lee box set: our new version of the Bruce Lee Legacy Collection contains the following differences from the one originally produced but withdrawn before street date:

-Correct pairing of disc label art and media for discs 10 and 11, which had inadvertently been swapped on the original release.
-New Blu-rays for The Big Boss, Fist Of Fury, Way Of The Dragon. Contrary to speculation circulating on the Internet, the original set did contain hi-def masters of the first three feature films. However, after comments from fans who had received early copies of our set, we discovered that our sources were not the recently restored transfers used for the Blu-rays in Hong Kong and Japan, but rather the original masters done a few years ago in Canada. We therefore acquired the improved masters (the master for Games of Death was not appreciably different), and have included them on this new set, for a truly definitive Bruce Lee collection.

Thank you all very much for hanging in there while we made these changes--we know it hasn't been easy, but we didn't want to announce the details officially until we knew for sure what we were able to include. The new street date for the set is 10/22--for the people who ordered from shoutfactory.com and received early copies, replacement discs will be issued."

Review up for the new Shout! BD for The Eagle Has Landed here http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/9575...landed_ce.html

The reviewer says this is a shorter version which is three minutes less. Does anyone know the difference between the versions?

I have the 2007 UK DVD "Special Edition" release which has the longer extended cut and runs at 145 minutes in length...and that's the faster PAL time.

When the reviewer says it's 3 minutes longer, they must be talking about the original European theatrical version... The extended cut of the film actually has many more additional scenes in it than either theatrical version. It's much closer to around 20 minutes more of additional footage.

I also own the UK DVD which i got as a freebie with a Sunday newspaper a few years back. I take it that this is the longer version too. Maybe the Shout BD isnt much of an upgrade then if i already have this?

Is it the one that came with "The Mail on Sunday" newspaper? I looked that one up in DVD Profiler, and it lists a running time of 130 minutes... so it's probably just the European theatrical cut.

It's probably worth it if you like the film and want it in HD, and it sounds like it's a good print/transfer judging by that review.

Yes it is that one. Just checked the DVD myself and it says 130 minutes. Would i be missing much by not owning the Euro cut?

No, you really wouldn't be missing too much that's essential. It's basically just extended/deleted scenes and bits re-inserted back into the film.

Here's a comparison of the extended cut to the US theatrical cut: http://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=2160

I ask Scream on Facebook if the isolated music score will be ported over for the Assault on Precinct 13 CE and their response:

"Yes, Isolated music score will be included."
