It's good news, albeit obviously pricey. But I have to wonder if they'll include the R2 DVD supplements, or at least the old R1 DVD supplements.

It's odd that MGM would pass up on just releasing it themselves. The remake was pretty lame, but the original film does certainly have an audience out there.

I was interested in the thread until I saw "...from Twilight Time."

Never bought anything from them, but might make an exception with their upcoming releases of Golden Voyage of Sinbad and Sinbad & the Eye of the Tiger.

That artwork is killer! Captures the film (and the 70's) perfectly.

I wonder if they'd have some of the promotions they did on ABC's Wide World of Sports. We saw that as kids, and really wanted to see the movie but my parents wouldn't let me 'cause it was rated R.

On another note, can you even fathom a time when all of televised sports was a weekly 90 minute show with highlights of various events played out like they were live? It was Wide World of sports, Monday Night Football, and maybe one or two college and pro football games on Saturday and Sunday. That was it.

Just a reminder that it's up for pre-order today, and I got mine locked in. I guess they expect it to sell out fairly quickly...since there's already a "limited of 3" attached on it.

I can fathom it because I lived it. They used to show Evil Knevil's jumps on WWoS! Always my favorite. I also recall listening to every Tigers game on the radio, nearly none were televised back then. This week is making me wish they weren't all on TV.
