Great read! Streaming is unfortunately killing the thrill of wandering through walls and walls of movie covers, interacting with other movie fans, and more importantly getting off your couch. It's sad to say but the younger generation has no interest or nostalgia to any of this and they will be the end of it all. I wander if niche titles will eventually be lost and hard to find again, as most are left with what crap Netfilx decides to offer them.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I am extremely happy to announce that we will be holding a DVD pre-release party for my film The Invoking at Scarecrow Video. The event will take place on Monday 2/17 at 7 PM in Seattle. This will be the first place that the film will be available for sale anywhere. If any Washington residents on the forum can make it, it'd be great to see them there and have a drink (Scarecrow now sells beer, soda, and coffee). More information on the event can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/7803...an_user_joined

Are we able to buy your movie through Scarecrow via mail? I'd love to be able to support two independents with one purchase.

That's a great idea. Scarecrow sells discs through their website, so once it gets close to release date it should appear in the for sale category. Thanks!

Hey, you're doing excellent work. Like Egg Shen, I'm one the other side of the country, so I won't be visiting any time soon. I tried to find a flick my wife and I could enjoy the other night on Netflix, On Demand and Vudu. It wasn't easy to find a movie. I really miss rental stores.

Scarecrow Video has a Kickstarter campaign going to help turn the store into a non-profit. If they don't reach their goal, the doors of the largest video library in the world will close forever. Take a look at the campaign here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...recrow-project and donate if you have the change to spare. Have your top 10 films list hanging in the store or sponsor a section, there are all sorts of great perks.

I supported the Kickstarter this morning. Very happy to help out, and hope they reach their goal as it's one of my goals to one day visit the store.

I read that earlier today. Very cool you're the one who wrote it! I really enjoyed the article and I hope that place can be saved. It's a shame places like that are being closed down.

After less than a week, Scarecrow Video's Kickstarter campaign is a success. So the next 28 days are just gravy, but even so Scarecrow continues to add cool new rewards for backers.

Scarecrow is an Amazon marketplace seller - I'll show some support by buying from them as often as I can. Sounds like an awesome place but, sadly, they've become a victim of changing times. Same thing happened to Kim's Video in my neck of the woods (NYC). A video superstore forced to downsize until there was nothing left. Sigh.
