Could it have something to do with the unethical experiments of a disgraced, deceased professor? When John's son volunteers as guinea pig for some tests at the local college, the answer may be closer than he expects. Oft-labeled a slasher film, DEAD KIDS really has more in common with '50s sci-fi programmers, but still retains the nastier edge of its '80s kin (not to mention a Tangerine Dream score). Filled with likeable characters and offbeat touches like a Tor Johnson-masked murderer and an out-of-nowhere choreographed dance party, the film emerges a unique, atypical surprise that's been a favorite since I initially picked up a badly-cropped, EP-speed VHS for $2.88 at Woolworth's.

Released previously by Elite and Synapse, Severin's blu debut ports the commentary with co-writer Bill Condon and actors Dan Shor and Dey Young, while adding a new one with director Laughlin. Also onboard is a new featurette with make-up man Craig Reardon, along with the usual assortment of trailers.
Looks like it is missing the deleted scenes with commentary from Synapse's release, along with the isolated music score. That's a little disappointing.

For $30 I'm expecting it to look like a Pixar film

Does anyone actually pay full SRP on movies though, unless it's something like Twilight Time?

They're currently $19.79 at BlowItOutaHere.
15% off orders of $25 or more: VALDAY2014 (thru the 15th)
making them $16.82 plus shipping, which is usually $1.50 - $1.99 per item depending on how many items you order.

I've been pre-ordering my Scream Factory titles here lately, and they're way cheaper than Amazon. They have a 10% / 15% off code every week or so. After shipping is added, it's been coming out to about $15 - $17 per Scream Factory blu-ray.

Why don't these cheap sites ship overseas?!

I talked with David on the way home today -- he said they went back to the original negative for the HD transfer of DEAD KIDS and the previously deleted scenes were actually included in the film proper, so they left them there. He also said he believes the isolated score will be on there, but he's verifying.

As far as PATRICK goes, he confirmed they'll be including the Italian audio track with the Goblin score!

Already ordered the trailer compliation. I love them. I own the Grindhouse Universe from 42nd Street Forever, which is OOP, 42nd Street Forever Volumes 1-5, and Trailer War from Alamo Drafthouse films. Thanks for the heads up. I own the others on DVD already, and don't watch them enough to upgrade to Blu-Ray.

A couple more reviews:

Dead Kids: http://www.mondo-digital.com/deadkids.html

Ozzploitation Trailer Explosion: http://www.mondo-digital.com/ozploit.html

They list Dead Kids as having "DTS-HD Mono" but I've seen them incorrect as far as technical details in quite a few of their reviews before.

I just double checked the case and press release one sheet I was sent for these releases and nowhere does it say "DTS-HD Mono".

And yet he is right Dead Kid's is in DTS-HD. I just checked my disc. I also checked Thirst again to make and it is not DTS-HD audio.
