Shock 'Em Dead should be great if it's restored from 35mm. I already have the R4 DVD and the 20th Anniversary Edition DVD...but the A/V could definitely be improved.

Someone on AV Maniacs claims they're interested in licensing FATAL GAMES. Never seen the film but judging by the trailer it looks OK. A maniac killing off Olympic athletes is definitely a fresh idea.

Fatal Games is awful, but I'd probably buy the Blu-ray anyway.

Fatal Games is very good from a third tier slasher point of view. Much stronger than Graduation Day, though VS' transfer may gain some points for it.

Thanks for starting the thread! But, why did you put all the info in spoilers?

I guess I thought it would look cluttered. Maybe I'll change them to quote tags?

Backyard gore junkies unite -- Slasher//Video give a peek behind-the-scenes with Peter Rowe's SPLATTER: ARCHITECTS OF FEAR (1986)! In the post-apocalyptic future, a group of heavy-chested warrior women smash, explode, chop and eviscerate the scummy male mutants left to roam our planet after the bomb. Except... it's all a fake shot-on-video epic, frequently interrupted by the crew as SPLATTER instead shows you the ins-and-outs of D.I.Y. make-up FX. It's a weird, potentially alienating concept, but as a kid who grew up memorizing Savini's 'Grande Illusions' book and Michael Burnett's how-to tapes, this no-budget tutorial is a glorious reminder of those days when putting together a crappy movie still required more than a personal computer, and homemade blood-pumping and latex-slinging gave you a reason to look forward to the weekend. Plus, it's pretty much wall-to-wall gore galore and skimpily-clad girls, so what's not to like? Slasher's DVD also include a commentary and Q&A with the producer, a fan video review, behind-the-scenes stills, and more.

(I was like 15 when I first rented the VHS, from my then-girlfriend's video store, since my shops didn't have it. While watching it in her basement, her dad came in during one Amazonian's nude dance sequence, muttered something about, "Seeing lips!" and made us turn it off. Not as bad as the time her parents came in during SS HELL CAMP, but I don't think I was doing much to help my impression around that household.)

Cool, can’t wait for Satan's Blade. I still have the VHS that I haven’t watched yet. Ha! Maybe I’ll check it out this weekend so I know what to look forward to in HD…Pretty awesome this is getting a BD.

How many releases of Satan's Blade were there on VHS and what are the differences if any? I have the Prism clamshell.

Also, I should have my copy of Splatter: Architects of Fear soon. Should be good!

Progress on Satan's Blade:

Quote:
Four 35MM reels cleaned frame by frame, each having its own 21MB DPX file, totaling 2.58 TB for just the video itself. This will be transcoded in the next few days (that's the plan at least) //

All DVDs on eBay are currently on sale for $5.

Shipping is $3.50 + $1 for each additional item. Prices are the same on Amazon, but shipping cannot be combined.
