Just in time for Halloween, NCM Fathom Events, Turner Classic Movies and Universal Pictures will present a Halloween Double Feature in movie theaters nationwide on Wednesday, October 24th in celebration of Universal’s 100th Anniversary. Don’t miss seeing Boris Karloff on the big screen as the original “Frankenstein” (1931) followed by Karloff and Elsa Lanchester in “Bride of Frankenstein” (1935).

The event will begin with TCM Host Robert Osborne as he treats audiences to exclusive interviews conducted at this year’s TCM Classic Film Festival. Joining him will be Karloff’s daughter, Sara Karloff along with Bela Lugosi, Jr. the son of the classic “Dracula” star and Academy Award® winning make-up artist, Rick Baker. Damn, I hit enter while tweaking the post so the title got posted as is and I can't edit it now. Sorry about that.

Anyways, a tempting showing as Frankenstein is one of my all time favorites but unfortunately is in the middle of the week so I'll have to think about it.

Would be fun though in general I prefer to catch stuff like this in 35mm and I'm sure this is digital.

Not only digital, but likely pretty low quality. Fathom does not have a reputation for high quality presentations.

I saw my first Fathom event a couple of weeks ago, and it looked like a standard definition DVD blown up to the big screen. Not very rich in detail or color.

You're better off staying at home and watching a Blu-Ray

Just to see these titles on the big screen would be awesome.
