VCR horrors
Check out this youtube video of a 20/20 episode from the 80's talking about kids renting horror films. In one part they have them showing Cannibal Ferox to "concerned Parents"

Thanks, that was awesome. I enjoyed Caston Jarvis' remarks at the 3:36 mark of the video. Where is Caston Jarvis today?!?

Make it even 10X more funny!
Turn on closed captions, right click the CC button, click English, read along. ![]() (I only started this at 11 minutes, so I can't speak for the first 10 minutes, but wow is that a loose translation! ![]() ![]() )Example: Real quote: "The 2 year old girl is recovering" Caption reads: "The 2 year old girl his recovery" Or this: "Last May at a graduation party for seniors from Beckville High" = "Slash may at usm graduation parties for seniors from backfill highs" ![]() ![]() ![]() Finally: "Be entertaining and scary at the same time" = "beating peter kenyon scary seemed fine" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Reports like this always made me laugh-'On average will watch fifteen murders per hour'. No, it's really actors pretending to be murdered, following this logic CNN is much more detrimental to a child's health with its endless coverage of trauma, death and life threatening situations.

It felt like the kids were more mature than the overly protective adults in that clip
![]() Hell, even when I watched my first horror or action movies when I was around 5-6 years old, I even THEN knew it wasn´t real. I remember secretly watching "A Nightmare on Elmstreet" on my 12th birthday, and all of us kids were having a blast and laughing at Freddy and the gore. But you should have seen my grandmothers reaction walking in the room during the scene when Tina gets sliced up. It was priceless ![]() And of course we all grew up into serial killers and rapists

Fuckin' awesome....They interviewed Chas Balun(RIP)!
That's what I got out of it. The 10 year old at the end sounded more rational than the psychology professor who wrote the "book". |

That was entertaining as hell. I thought it was just me being young and immature at the time, but no, adults clearly were that stupid when I was a kid. I really can't stand these fucking idiots who blame movies and/or video games for violent behavior like murder and violence didn't exist before these mediums. Any nutcase who has murderous tendencies had them regardless of what type of entertainment they prefer.

I loved Morton Downey Jr's show from back in the day. He makes Jerry Springer (in his prime) look tame. Complete talk show trash.

According to Professor Dingleberry’s rationale, Caston is probably currently serving a life sentence for a mass murdering rampage and sexual assaults of at least 50 different women…
…or he lives in the suburbs, married, couple of kids, and works in the tech dept. at an insurance agency. |

Nice! It's funny to think the scare tactics used by the media today are nothing new, just different subjects. Reminds me of this episode of Geraldo I saw back in the eighties about heavy metal.
