I'm very pleased about these (and Rolling Thunder). Very pleased about the price as well. The Island sells for $20.00, but only a little over $13.00 for two of Chan's best?

Blu-ray.com has a review up for Shout's Crime Story/The Protector double feature and it's disheartening. Looks like they're sourced from standard definition masters. Maybe this is old news to some, but I was really looking forward to some nice HD picture quality for these. I'm assuming The Police story films will be the same. Still, I imagine this will be the best the films will look for some time to come.

I had the HK Police Story BD and it was a mess.If Shout! use the same transfer it'll be a great shame.

Yeah, I have the HK BD´s of Police Story, and even though they are upscales, in comparision to the latest HK DVD´s, the BD:s don´t suffer from DNR and bad compression. Also the colors are better on the BD´s, and the upscale is sharper and better looking than what even my Oppo player can do. So it´s still an slight upgrade, if you (like me) hate DNR and compression artifacting.

But if you are satisfied with the latest DVD´s and aren´t bothered with DNR and artifacts, then it´s not worth it.
