CAV Distributing aquires Corman's New Horizons Library!

I found out in issue #37 of HorrorHound Magazine that CAV Distributing has aquired the Roger Corman New Horizons library of over 200 titles like Transylvania Twist and Munchies. I was kinda hoping though Anchor Bay would've aquired it seeing as though they released Fire On The Amazon and I can see them releasing Braindead (1990 film).

Sounds more like they bought the whole company; here I believe is the full quote:

CAV announced the acquisition of Roger Corman's New Horizons, and will be releasing and distributing close to 200 titles, including Munchies, Transylvania Twist, Saturday the 14th , Stepmonster and Dinocroc.
CAV is an awesome company that supports many indie labels including Synapse Films. Many of these companies go to CAV because they're more flexible with the more exploitative catalogs. So we really couldn't ask for anyone better.

I'd be interested in knowing what their plans are. The bulk of their business appears to be distribution and replication of their licensor's products, so I'm wondering if they've got an arrangement in place or in the works with Synapse or one of their other clients to work jointly on this.

Nice, there's still several that Shout never had access to, like Sorority House Massacre that could certainly use upgrades over the old DVD releases.

I wonder what will happen to the old Shout Factory releases...going OOP now? They just released a couple as Shout Select titles.

I'm pretty sure they're just distributing leftover stock -- don't expect these to be any different than the earlier releases.

Yeah, it looks like it based on that above link.

All of the UPC codes appear to be identical to the old releases, as well as the coverart shown.

I'd never heard of Transylvania Twist before. When checking out the trailer I was delighted to see Roger Corman getting even more days work out of Karloff from beyond the grave!

Too bad they are the same releases.

It'd be neat if this allowed Synapse to get ahold of them. Like I said, Sorority House Massacre needs the special edition treatment. I would also love a decked out edition of School Spirit.
