Yeah I have heard good things about this one as well. Ever since I found out it was rated R I have been rooting for it. Looks like it could be a lot of fun.

I watched it in 3D this time. Even though it's post-converted, the format has some nice depth and some good 3D gags. And the G.I. Joe 2 preview that played in front of it wasn't too bad either.

And H&G is still a blast. As long as you don't take it seriously and don't think too hard about it... it's a fun ride.

I realized that on my second viewing. Still impressive, considering the budget.

According to Box Office Mojo, H&G's second weekend has went down 53% to $9.2M-- it's domestic cume now is $34.4M. Coupled with the $62M it's amassed internationally, I expect Paramount and MGM to consider a sequel once the worldwide total eclipses $125M.

The movie has officially crossed $100M worldwide.

Give it another week, and I think Paramount and MGM are going to fast track a sequel for January 2015...

It's official: Paramount is going to follow through with a sequel, per Deadline.

What are the chances that Renner will return?

Chances are, he and Arterton have 1-2 sequel options in their original contracts. So Paramount can easily exercise those when the sequel gets greenlit in earnest.

But with Renner's growing price, he'll have the clout to renegotiate his contract for a better payday (not so sure about Arterton). And Paramount is very penny-pinching when it comes to franchises... they'll probably do a backend deal with him in exchange for a smaller upfront paycheck.
