Ha!I haven't even bought it yet!
Mainly because it's a bit on the expensive side and I have mixed feelings about this one (after reading some more reviews).Sure I need it in my collection but since other companies keep releasing great stuff this one I completely forgot about.
Jimbo,I think we can trust de rossi's opinion on this one .
What other Gialli are you planning to buy?Need advice?

Black Belly of the Tarantula
I really enjoyed this one.Great DVD.You won't be disappointed.

Door into Darkness
Nice set and if you're interested in Argento and enjoyed Cozzi's Killer must Kill Again you need it.Not many murders since it was made for TV but an interesting piece of Italian movie history.Perhaps only for completists?
Watch it in B&W.

Death carries a cane
I haven't seen this one and frankly all reviews I read about it were pretty negative.Mainly because the image quality sucks but also the movie seems to be mediocre.Still if it were cheap I'd buy it.
Here's a review:
http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=58529
Quote:
Pradeaux's direction is flat and uninspired - only in the murder scenes does he ever seem to come alive and actually take an interest in what he is shooting. The production design is also a major letdown. Given that gialli are so often renowned for their exotic locales and flamboyant architecture, it comes as something of a surprise that the film spends most of its time in nondescript urban streets and grotty slums. Even Roberto Pregadio's score is completely and utterly passable, with not a single memorable theme. It's also worth pointing out that the English dubbing in this film, and it would seem the script, are absolutely attrocious and render virtually every scene as insincere farce.
If you're still interested then try to get the double disc(!).

Perfume of a lady in black
Get it.I won't tell you more,it's essential. Not really a Giallo and nothing really supernatural either. But it's a great film and I just love Mimsy! She's great here.

School girl killer
As you know, haven't seen it.But I'll put it on my "to buy next" list.

Jimbo:

Black Belly of the Tarantula: Excellent movie and disc, highly recommended!
Death carries a cane: I liked it, not the best disc but not the worst either.
Perfume of a lady in black: Very good movie, more horror than gillo though!
School girl killer: In the vein of Blood and Black Lace, one of X-Rateds best discs.

I think there's two things we can do:
  • a)buy the X-Rated disc because X-Rated is no more and so this might become OOP in the near future ....or.....
  • b)wait for a rerelease by NSM Records (they apparently have the rights for some X-Rated releases now). They also redid Torso which was way cheaper than the X-Rated disc.
Whatever we do DD,this one's screaming to be part of our collection!

According to his profile,he's been active here almost two weeks ago.Hasn't posted though.
He hasn't even posted on Darkdreams since October last year! He's a busy man I guess .He'll be back to post again I'm sure (probably in this thread if he gets email notification).

By the way, morto = dead.

There's nobody there to save you from this nightmare!

From the minds of Italian horror kings Mario Bava (Twitch of the Death Nerve) and Antonio Margheriti (Cannibal Apocolypse) comes this macabre tale of murder at an all girls school.

The corpses are piling up at St. Hilda's School for Girls, leaving top cop Michael Rennie (The Day The Earth Stood Still) with more than the usual suspects. Is the killer playboy riding instructor Mark Damon (House of Usher)? Peeping tom Luciano Pigozzi (Baron Blood)? Or how about hulking swim teacher Giovanni Di Benedetto (The Bird With the Crystal Plumage), whose wetsuit and dive mask make the perfect ensemble for slaughter?

Mario Bava's original script Cry Nightmare was entrusted to director Antonio Margheriti. Retitled The Young, The Evil and The Savage by American International Pictures, the film was hacked of 15 minutes so it could fit onto a double bill with the Vincent Price vehicle The Conqueror Worm.

Dark Sky Films presents this early Italian giallo complete and uncut for the first time in North America.

Special Features:

- Trailer
- Still Gallery
- English subtitles

I'm sure that I will be picking this one up too. It's no more outlandish a title than Strip Nude for Your Killer.
