The Initiation 5.1 track on Midnight Madness Series DVD
The packaging claims this movie has 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround. My player and DVD Shrink say it's only a stereo track. I know the DVD cover could be wrong but is there any way to test it or find an answer? I especially double dipped from my Anchor Bay release because I thought this one had an upgraded audio track. Note that the volume label for both discs is the same and it's a direct Anchor Bay transfer because a music cue is missing in the same spot on each. Could DVD Shrink just be pulling up the info from the AB release but it actually has a 5.1 track?

Use an additional program like DVD Audio Extractor, IFOedit or MediaInfo. They'll tell you for sure if it's a 5.1 track or really just a 2.0 track.

For me, having a 5.1 track on a film originally recorded in mono isn't an upgrade at all. But, to each his own, I suppose.
