Question Nekromantik 2

Has anyone heard anything about this release? It's listed as coming out in March on Mondo Digital, and it's "future undated" at Fangoria. The Barrel website gives you a a list of what's gonna be on the disc, but the site hasn't been updated in months. I'm dying to see this movie finally along with Der Todesking.

Since I'm the one who put the info up I guess I'm qualified to respond. NEKRO 2 should still be coming around the end of March / beginning of April. Most of the work has been completed, and the guys from Barrel have actually been working on getting the soundtrack cd mastered this weekend. DER TODESKING is still a bit away, as they haven't even transferred the print yet. Barrel should have a new website update uploaded around the middle of this month, which includes the details on four new titles they're working on. (Two of which are already listed on the Mondo Digital Upcoming Release schedule.)

I keep putting off getting the Barrel DVD's because I hate ordering online. But, as I can't find them in stores, I may have to do so. I have never seen Nekromantik, but, I had Last House On Dead End Street on VHS. So, I assume they are similarly bad. So, I must have them all.

I checked the Mondo Digital list again more carefully and found the other two Barrel releases. I looked up the titles on the internet and it seems a little strange that Barrel would release these, but I guess there's only so many Buttgereit films left.

Well, Buttgereit is going to be co-directing a film with Olaf Ittenbach and Andreas Schnaas pretty darn soon, that ought to be a film and a half!

Well, it's not like Barrel ever said they were just gonna release horror and exploitation titles.

BULLET ON A WIRE and WALLS IN THE CITY are supposed to be pretty cool (and kinda twisted) neo-noir flicks, but I haven't seen either. I'm more than willing to give them a chance, though, especially after reading the info about them on the update (from Steve Puchalski).

Another Barrel acquisition I'm putting on the list with this week's update is the Austrian serial killer film ANGST.

The fourth title they'll be announcing in their web update is another non-horror title, but it's a rather high-profile project that I'm really looking forward to. I'll be adding it to the MD list as soon as they get the contracts back in the mail.
