Eraserhead DVD specs!
A guy I'm friends with from another board got his copy already within 24 hours he said, and here are the specs in his own words:
*SPECS: -Anamorphic widescreen (According to the insert) -R0 -NTSC -(As usual) NO chapter stops -Fully (frame by frame) restored video -UNCOMPRESSED PCM soundtrack(!) -The video optimizer from the "Shorts" dvd -Full motion menu's w/ a DELETED scene of Henry's pant leg catching on a dead hairless cat corpse as he tries to wiggle it off(!) -TWO EXTRAS: ****An HOUR AND A HALF of Lynch talking about the making of Eraserhead! WORTH THE PRICE ALONE! (Shot in the same style as the "Shorts" dvd intros) w/ plenty of photographs and video footage. It's anyones guess as to why this wasn't listed as a feature. Deleted scenes are discussed,(but only the one in the menu is shown) as well as a phone call to Cathrene Coulson. Priceless. -US Trailer ------------------- Mine's been ordered already, and now I'm even more fucking excited! Can't wait for it to arrive!!! |

Sorry - but with the price of this one - I'm glad I DID go with a $7 full screen version I found in the UK. It simply isn't worth $60 for a 90 documentary.

Yeah. The PCM soundtrack interests me, but NTSC? Only if I'm desparate nowdays...

Well, I paid $50, not $60... And a restored anamorphic, widescreen transfer along with the documentary definitely makes it worthwhile in my book. Guess it just boils down to how interested you are in the film.

The news gets better and better. I never expected any extras so this is a welcome addition. Mine should be here by the end of the week.

if the documentary is good, i might ask for it for christmas. But i don't like the movie enough to spend $50 out of my pocket on it.

Sounds like it was worth the wait (and what a wait it was...).
This has been one of my most anticipated DVDs for a while now. Can't wait to get it.

i wouldn't buy it without seeing it first. You might love it, but it would be a big risk.

I didnt want to break down and order this, but I think I'll have to. I'm not big on the fact it comes in an 8"X8" box, but the specs on it sound too good for any self-respecting Lynch fan to pass on.
