Last House On Dead End Street
Had the chance to actually see the film since I never had time to watch the BARREL DVD.
I was blown away. this film has such a creepy feeling that gets under your skin in a very cunning way and stays there. Now I'm stuck with it. It is a feeling I only felt with TCM. By the way, THE MUSIC WAS AWESOME! Anyone knows where I can get it on cd? Or mp3 maybe?

I was really pleased with this. I was wary of spending $30 on a movie I'd never seen before, but man was it worth it!

Honestly the disc is better than the movie. I liked it a lot more after watching all the stuff and learning about all the shit Watkins went through.

if this is anything like last house on the left then im sure it will really disturb me.... watched cannibal holocaust and cannibal ferox a few weeks ago and was amazed at how tame these films were compared to how all the reviews make them out to be.. i can manage gorey films no problem (maybe because the gore is laughably fake 99% of the time) but i just cant seem to handle the torture/rape type films.... i was thinking about buying last house on dead end street and ISOYG but i dunno whether i will enjoy them or be repulsed by them, cannibal holocaust is a brilliant movie but i find last house on the left to be rather boring
i want to be terrified, i like a good scarey movie, its just too damned hard to find a movie that fits the criteria when ur not a kid anymore |

I recently tried to watch this. Twice. I just cant do it. I love films like TCM and LHOL, but this was just bad. I know a lot of people like it and I can see why, its just doesnt do much for me. The disc is really much better than the movie.

I find myself thinking about this movie at least once a week. Man is it just a dirty little film, and on DVD as well! The raw elements just really fuck with your head.

You know, it kind of irks me the hype this movie/DVD has rec'd. I find that most, not all, seem to be let-down by the film. I blame that on the multitude of reviews found on the 'net that claim this film as "disturbing," "shocking," "repulsive," etc etc. And while LHODES is certainly an uneasy watch, I just don't think it REALLY pushes the envelope, like the hype has led us to believe. Watching it via an old, washed out VHS copy (in this case the original Sun Video VHS which took me well over a year to obtain) over the years has given me a certain degree of appreciation for it. For a while there, LHODES was actually my all-time favorite horror movie. Still haven't picked up the DVD, yet.
