I recently saw Sergio Martino's "Tutti i colori del buio" (AKA Day Of The Maniac) from 1973 and found it to be a very cool movie indeed! It's sort of a psychological giallo, lots of surreal dream/flash sequences and so on. Beautiful camerawork and a awesome score! The only problem is that the version i saw (VHS) was Pan&Scaned really bad and the picturequality was bad...
Does anyone know if this movie might end up on DVD anytime soon? Perhaps in a second Giallo-box from anchor bay or anything like that? |

I highly recommend the german dvd from Marketing, because the transfer albeit non-anamorphic is really great considering the age of the movie. Head over to dvd-basen for some reviews.
There is also a RC1 in the works, take a look at this thread: http://www.horrordvds.com/vbulletin/...threadid=11295 |

Cool! Didnt think this movie already was out on DVD!
Kick ass movie. There are some giallo-like touches to it, but most of it is much more dreamlike and surreal. Very atmospheric. I think most people who tend to enjoy euro-horror/thrillers from the 70's will find this movie very enjoyable. I know I did! Whats the word on the r1 vesion? Is it worth holding your breath? |

Now if we can only get other Martino DVDs out, like Blade of the Ripper or Your Vice... uncut.

I really enjoyed Torso (I have the R1 AB disc). If this is as good, we're on the right track.

I agree, I enjoyed it quite a bit too. It's nothing amazing, but I definitely found Fenech gorgeous and the plot interesting. Some fantastic imagery too. Think ROSEMARY'S BABY meets CASE OF THE BLOODY IRIS.

It seems she's done a few scattered films here and there, but she was only working steadily in the 70s. There was a post on Mobius with a recent picture of her, and she didn't look too bad. But man, no way it was as nice as this:
