Favorite Euro Horror film?

I just wanted to know what everyone's favorite Euro Horror film was. Mine is Fulci's Zombie... that film, in my opinion, has everything and is his best work. Of course, my other faves are Deep Red, Suspiria, City of the Living Dead, The Beyond, Blood and Black Lace, and Twitch of the Death Nerve. Even though I cannot yet say it is my favorite, I have a deep interest in Franco's Virgin Among the Living Dead and am curious about his other work.

I never saw any of the ones you mentioned, Jeff. I do really want to see Female Vampire and House on the Edge of the park, though!

What is Viy?

I'd have to say THE BEYOND. And I think it's the first time I've definitively said it. Oh well, I'm sure it'll change. And there are way too many runner ups to even list.

Viy is a freaky Russian flick from the late 60's. I'll post a review about it this week. I am so glad they put this on DVD, that was one bootleg I never thought I'd get rid of.

Shit, That'd be Asian wouldn't it?

OK, I've changed my mind. My favorite eurohorror is:

Day of the Beast
Zombie
Tombs of the Blind Dead

Yeah, me too. But there are others that probably tie with it like:

Demons
Opera
Suspiria
and probably some more

I really love Opera, for got to list it as one of my faves. I also love Demons, but it isn't one of my faves. Hell of the Living Dead is cool but I only like it based on camp value. I've never seen Tenebre, but desperately want to... I KNOW I will LOVE it!

Giallos and zombie films are probably my favorite kind of film, as you might have noticed. That is funny because my all-time favorite movie Carrie, which is totally American.

There are a lot of Euro horror films that I really want to see but haven't had the chance. I could name a million of them, but for the sake of space, I won't!

DEEP RED RULES!

hmmm i havent seen that many euro flicks so i cant really say, but one thing i will say is that i am yet to see a single euro flick that ill love straight away... they almost always need a good few hours/day to sink in for me to truely appreciate it... maybe a second viewing or a review or something..

suspiria was pretty cool, got lost a bit during it coz i couldnt hear what people were saying over the loud music.... zombie was ok too but it took a while to kick in... start was a bit slow

would lair of the white worm be classified as a euro flick? britain is in europe after all! if it is then thats probably one of my faves

Not that I've given it much thought, but I'll say Phenomena. I've spun that flick quite a few times. I mean, hell, Iron Maiden *and* Pleasence?
