Question Does anyone know the name of this movie???

Hi everyone,

I have this picture of a horror movie i saw years ago and i want to buy it but i just can't find any info on it and i don't know the name of it.

I will descibe it as best as i can below and if anyone knows what it is i would really appreciate a name etc..

Ok, well i remember it being based in a big shopping mall. I think there were several people that were locked in this shopping mall or maybe it was a large company building ( i can't be sure) and for what ever reason they took advantage of this quite night to walk around window shopping and looking for a security gaurd to let them out.

I remember there being no sign of anyone in the building, which gets you thinking as to where everyone is.

It soon moves on to someone getting killed in a office or shop with a axe weilding person. I am pretty sure that though out the movie you don't see the murders face.

I remember there being a scene where one of the ladies gets sepetated from the other and she finds her all cut up in a elevator.

Oh yea, there is a important bit i remember where the lady takes on the murderer and she knocks the person out. At first the person is lying on the steps and looks like a woman but she tugs at her hair and a wig comes off and the guy gets up and ets about her.

Thats about all i can think of, i know its a bit blurred and i probably have several things in there backwards and wrong but if it sounds familiar to anyone please let me know

thanks,
Scott

Sounds like Intruder (Directed by Scott Spiegel, 1988) to me, although I've never seen it. I have a third generation copy on VHS but the quality is very poor and I can't summon the motivation to watch it. Anyone confirm this?

Thanks for the reply DVD Connoisseur.

I checked out the review of Intruder at http://us.imdb.com/Title?0095379 and i don't think this is it.

It was quite a serious, very tense thriller/horror movie.

I thing that made me post this message was due to my horror gene being reactivated after many years, when i finished watching American Psycho last night... which has to be said did remind me of the film in question.

I must of seen this film about 5+ years ago and i don't know if it was new then so i could be quite old.

The thing that keeps flashing in my head when i try to think of the film, is a big quite modern looking, glass finish building that had shops in it, which is where the whole movie was based in.

thanks again for any suggestions,
Scott

Nightmare on the 13th Floor is, i believe, the film you are talking about.

it's a great little made-for-tv movie about a woman who visits a hotel in order to write a review for a travel magazine. in a very cool scene, she discovers that the hotel has a 13th Floor - even though there's no button for it on the elevator panel. the staff, who are creepy enough as it is, insist that there is no 13th Floor. people start vanishing. there's this nasty guy with an axe. the plot thickens!

Thanks again Landrvr.

I checked it out at http://us.imdb.com/Title?0100262 but i don't think that is it either.

The movie is not based on just one floor but horror takes place throughout the entire shopping mall. I remember this as the characters run about the entire building looking for ways out and trying to find people to help.

I am not 100% about the following, i might be taking this from another movie but i think this action is based over just one night of them being hunted down in the building and one by one they get killed off until early morning and the builing is opened and the one survivor escapes..

Come to think about it, if i could sum the film up in several words i would say its:

"Halloween based in a shopping mall/large building"

Hope this helps anyone recall this film

Thanks AgentSusp for the suggestion, but no.

I checked it out at
but this film seems to be based on a disfigured guy protecting a lovely and lonely teenage girl from harm and eliminates
the ones that cused him harm.

The film i am thinking of is more people getting locked in a mall at night and unfortunatley also in the mall that night is a mad psycho very much like halloween's Michael Myers ... who seeks out everyone and brutally chops them up... but in the end i remember there being a real good twist or sometihng.... god damn it if i could just remeber.

It might have been The Initiation from 1984 with Daphne Zuniga.

Mmmmmm i am just reading the review at http://us.imdb.com/CommentsShow?87472 and it says

To get over a reoccuring nightmare, a sorority pledge and her friend's break into her father's humongous department store. But a killer has followed them, and she discovers there is no way to escape the nightmare she has entered.

Its sounds very similair if not the one. I am going to go and find some full movie reviews and see if it is the very one.

Be back in a mo

It might be Rush Week, a fairly dire little slasher about a mad axe killer from 1988. It sounds more like this than The Initiation.
