Undead: The Zombie Movie We Have Been Waiting For?

Oh man. There's been threads on this before, but this film is worth another. I'm telling ya, EVERY single review and comments that I've been able to dig up (and there are quite a few) on this film all say one thing: This is one kick-ass Zombie flick. This review is a great example:

Review

Regardless of what someone else here said a few weeks ago, the trailer KICKS ASS.

Is anyone else but me peeing their pants in anticipation of this? In light of the friggin mess we know will be the Dawn remake, at least we have this potential gem.

The trailer looks pretty damn cool. What is that in your avatar? Looks like a zombified cross between Data and Wayne Newton.

I'm looking forward to it. Not entirely confident in it (as with anything brand spanking new), but looks better than most.

Yes, one has to be very wary of anything new these days. But I'm stoked. The trailer alone is better than most recent horror flicks I've seen.

That spine and legs at the end of the trailer is cool.

I've delibrately read nothing about this.

All I've heard is that it is very good.

Will buy this regardless.

hehehe - me too.
About time there was a new Oz film that isn't a drama or comedy

In regards to release dates, the theatrical release for Australia is late August (earlier at the Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane International Film Festivals) and it is rated MA15+ which is equivalent to a R rating in the US (NC-17 or unrated in the US is usually R18+ in Australia). Which considering, the uncut version of Braindead (Dead Alive) got a R18+ rating Australia, it's looking as though there's not as much gore as Braindead. Check the info here... http://www.undeadmovie.com/undead%20...ite%20news.htm

Fuck, censorship on horror is easier than when Braindead got released uncut here. You have to be pretty bad to get R these days.

I'm talking about the rating on video (or cinema if it was at cinemas in Aust?), so it would've been a while ago - around 10 years I guess. There's no Aust release dates at IMDB, but US and UK were 1993 for the cinema release.
That's true about it being harder to get a R rating here, but then didn't Black Hawk Down originally get a R rating, but was then changed to MA15+ (as it should be) not long after?

Yeah the effects on the trailer looked impressive.
I should add too my comments above that Baise Moi also got a R18+ rating in Australia (until it was banned) and so did Men Behind The Sun. And of course, the rating (or the level of gore for that matter) is no indication of a good or bad movie. There's always a slight possibility it was cut down to get that rating too (though not many are cut in Australia that I know of).
I'll definately be seeing this one as soon as I can.
