Post Couple of new DVD purchases!

hey folks, been awhile since I've posted here but works work. Anyway, last weekend I got 2 new cool DVD's. Godzilla 2000 and Texac Chainsaw Massacre - A Family Portrait. Many of you have probably already watched Godzilla 2000 so either you love it or hate it. I love it and was happy to get this advance copy. Chainsaw Family Portrait I only recommend for die hard chainsaw fans. It's basically a documentary about the making of the film and has interviews with all 4 Saw family members. I thought it was really interesting and had fun listening to all the actors anecdotes (Edwin Neal is really funny). Too bad they didn't include this in the special edition DVD of Chainsaw.

Yeah, I too need to haul butt and pick up The Family Protrait.

Then I'm gonna punk one of my Anchor Bay double disc cases so I can bind them both together.

Supergirl will finally be useful at last!

Is this coming out in R1 (A Family Portrait)? I keep getting contradicting info. Figure it can't hurt to ask someone whose actually got one.

Oh yeah, I'm jealous...

I finally picked up Ravanous when I ordered my Seven and The Cell DVDs, so I'll finally be watching that one.

It should have offically come out today and I have the R1 version. I picked it up at a local (Vancouver, Canada) dvd specialty shop called C and L. They usually get dvd's in advance. I just got Seven SE today, still have yet to watch it but it should be great.

Cool thanks, somebody else confirmed that they got a R1 at DVDTalk's forum.

So one more thing to run down!

I need to get Se7en. I wanted to get it, but I'm sick in bed. Damn winter weather.

Mark,

Jack Frost 2 is ok, but I didn't think it was as funny as the 1st one...

It has a couple of cool death scenes, some stupid jokes (none with "snowballs", I'm afraid...), and you won't believe the scene after the end credits...

If you liked the 1st one, check this one out

How many of you guys bought Escape From New York? For 15 dollars I was pretty impressed. Sure the LD has commentary and such, but I really liked the Anamorphic transfer...

I'm normally limited to a couple of DVDs a month but, thanks to Christmas, I have the following presents on the way:-

Evil Dead Trap, Urotsukodji: Perfect Collection, Robotrix, Blood Feast, Inferno, MI-2 and Chicken Run (Man cannot live on horror alone...ho ho!)

Thanks to my birthday being in January, I've requested The Exorcist: The Version You've Never Seen Before, Hollow Man, What Lies Beneath and Twitch of the Death Nerve. Those should keep me going for quite some time...

Funktion, thanks for the info. Loved the first one. It's on my Christmas list. Here's hoping I get it!

rhett, I have Escape. Good transfer from The Lion. Watched it five times already.

DVD Connoisseur, I'd like to hear your thoughts on Blood Feast. Hope you enjoy it!

Nothing captures the X-mas spirit quite like Evil Dead Trap! I'm guessing this isn't coming from grandma.

jolt addict, Evil Dead Trap is actually coming from my mother! She's also purchased the Urotsukodji Collection and a gory / sexy Hong Kong film called Robotrix. I'm just hoping that a) she doesn't read the blurb on the back of the cases and b) she doesn't suggest we sit down and watch one after the Christmas dinner. (She still hasn't forgiven me for renting Last House on the Left when I was 13 and then watching it with her! Even now I blush thinking about it!)
Mark, I'll let you know my thoughts on Blood Feast soon after Christmas - I'm very excited about seeing this movie after the long wait!
