Thumbs up my review of Patrick Still Lives

NOTE: there are 2 releases of this: Cut and Uncut. this is for the uncut version.

"I've done everything I can doctor... he will live... but in a coma he may never come out of"

Shriek Show brings us the ultra sleazy counterpart to the much classier Patrick... hows the movie and disc? read on!!

audio and video were both decent. not great in my opinion, but pretty average. the blacks looked a little funny at times, but that wasnt a problem. video is presented anamorphic widescreen (1.85:1) and audio is in italian with english subs only.

for extras, we get 2 interviews: one with Gabrielle Crisanti (which lasts approx 10 mins, and sheds some hilarious light on the best kill in the movie) and also one with Gianni Dei which lasts about 6 mins. In addition to that, we get 4 trailers (all of which rock!!! (first time in a long time thats been the case!)): the totally fantastic, spoilerific (READ: dont watch before the movie) original trailer to Patrick Still Lives, great psychadelic trailer to Fulci's A Lizard in a Womans Skin and cool trailers for Eaten Alive! and Elsa Fraulen SS. Rouding out the extras is a super short stills gallery containing posters and lobby cards.

pretty OK disc, and the movie is totally awesome as well!...

...we start out seeing 2 men by the road with car trouble, before we know it one is smashed in the face with a bottle (?) and is put in a coma!! guess who that is?... next up we see a group of people arrive at a help center/relaxation clinic. They have all been invited there for various reasons by the doctor. Soon enough we are introduced to the perverted, bed ridden, coma having, psychic power using Patrick and the carnage begins. Beautiful women (every single woman in this flick is GORGEOUS) are defiled in upclose pornographic detail (jesus, we get to see ALL of Mariangela Giordano- the tit bite lady from Burial Ground, extremely upclose), heads are cut off, people hung up by hooks, burned, mauled and lots more!! not to mention we get to find out what the doctors diabolicial scheme is, why Patrick kills and you get to see the totally ridiculous ending!!!!!!!!!!

well, if you cant tell, i LOVED this movie!! total enjoyment from start to finish. I adored the fantastic music, great kills, amazingly beautiful women running around naked, cool characters, hilarious plot and more. My only complaint is the original uni-brow Patrick dosent return, instead he is played by someone else oh well, such a minor complaint.

highly recommended!!!!!!!

opinions anyone?

nah, you dont need to see the original to enjoy or understand this movie at all. they dont continue on to eachother story wise or anything. the only simliarity really is the main guy being named Patrick and his powers.

that being said, i do highly recommend the original one tho. Rhett did an awesome review for this site, you guy should check that out to find out what its about.

lol i actually believed you for a second then, then checked cduniverse and its unrated with
Movie Details:
Color; Letter Boxed; French Dubbed; Spanish Dubbed; Widescreen; Uncut; Uncut Version

R4 = M15+ (about an R rating in the US).. looks like yet ANOTHER two titles to add to my region 1 wishlist.. over half of which i personally blame your reviews for Jeff

But his dad is sporting one. So, it's not a big loss.

You're not kidding about the beautiful women in this flick! Carmen Russo (Mrs. Cough) and Anna Veneziano (Lidya) What's up with the guys? Mr. Cough's hot wife is begging for some sex and he takes a swim instead. Giordano gets slapped for her sexual advances. The only one that shows some interest is Patrick ...and he's in a friggin' coma.
