PROPHECY, what a boooooring movie!
I saw this the other night for the first time. Utturly boring piece of crap. I can't beleive that one of the greatest actors of all time, Christopher Walken, would participate in such a bad film. And to think they made two sequels!
Who in his right mind would actually purchase these films on DVD to watch them over and over again? Avoid at all cost. DrjOnes666 |

I like this movie. It makes you think. Christopher Walken is awesome as Gabriel! The ending is a bit overdone, but its still a good film.

Great film, good cast. Chris Walken was cool and so was Viggo Mortensen as the
I wish there was a better DVD out though.

Oh well... we sure don't have the same standard as to what makes a good film or a bad film. I need more than a good performance to enjoy a film. And the "makes you think part", the only thing it made me think about was all the plot holes this movie had and how very obvious it showed that they had no budget to shoot this film.
But hey, it's just my opinion... DrJOnes666 |

PROPHECY is one of my fav's. The sequels don't do it justice, but I think the 1st one is an awesome film.

I used to make fun of the sequels, laughing at the angels "gettin' their bird on", but the first one was a good movie. Way off the path of most of the shit released around the same time!
Araggon was creepy as Lucifer, and Walken was menacing as Gabriel (not so much in the sequels, esp. part 3). I still laugh in part 3 when the angel calls Gabriel "monkey", that's priceless and probably the only reason I've kept the dvd I blind bought! |

Throw another vote in from me. I liked the film quite a bit. The dynamic between Walken and the suicide-guy was hysterical. The angels were cool. The mythos was clever. There wasn't much I didn't like about this film, except for the little girl.

I liked this one pretty well, not enough to buy the dvd though. I didn't see the other ones, so I can't comment. I think Walken was the only thing that made this movie watchable, as the story wasn't very compelling to me.

Christopher Walken was the reason I watched this film. I found the concept of this movie interesting but not enough to watch the sequels.
BTW anyone here can do a really good Walken impression? They are just too funny.

I just don't get it then.
To call it "one of the better horror flicks of the 90s" is stretching it, don't you think? DrJOnes666 |
