sounds awesome. even aside from the Fulci DVDs, that Franco news is also very welcome.

whats up with Shriek Show releasing 2 versions of DVDs nowadays?? seems like a waste to me

"Media Blasters, those wonderful folks that will soon be responsible for unleashing 'Versus' upon the world under their Tokyo Shock label, have announced the details for two of their upcoming Shriek Show discs, and they are sweet indeed.

June 24th will see the release of the much-anticipated giallo film, 'Lizard In A Woman's Skin' (pre-order), arguably one of Fulci's best pre-'Zombie' outputs. The disc will feature interviews with stars Florinda Bolkan, Jean Sorel, Mike Kennedy and Penny Brown, and as an added bonus Carlo Rambaldi and Franco di Girolamo, who did the FX for the film, will also be sat down. Most importantly for fans of Italian horror, the film will be fully uncut, which means we'll finally get to see the dog disemboweling scene that got Fulci into so much trouble.

Then on August 26th, they will unleash a brand-new version of 'Zombie', Fulci's splatter masterpiece, as both a regular and two-disc special edition DVD. The two-discer will feature interviews with producer Fabrizio De Angelis, screenwriters Elisa Briganti and Dardano Sacchetti, composer Fabio Frizzi, special FX creators Gianetto De Rossi and Maurizio Trani and production/costume designer Walter Patriarca. A featurette and God knows what else will be packed onto it, so you can bet your ass it's going to replace the Anchor Bay disc you have on your shelf right now.

The coolest news of this all is that shortly before 'Zombie' (which may be released under it's Italian title 'Zombi 2') hits DVD, Media Blasters will be escorting it back into theaters for a very limited run. We'll have more details as to when and where you'll finally get to see it on the big screen as soon as they're announced."

They also seemed to have shyed away from the AR question on LIZARD. Oh well, I'm still excited for both releases.

I think the two versions thing is so that they can give Blockbuster/Hollywood Video/whoever else the cheaper version and have the SE for people like us.

...or 3 versions in the case of Blood Feast 2. Anyway, those Fulci discs should be pretty sweet.

I saw Fulci's Zombie on the big screen when it played in the Twin Cities about 20 years ago. It was awesome then. I would love to see it on the big screen again.

I am already planning on picking up the 2 disc edition on Zombie, but I am flipping out over finally getting a DVD on Franco's "Faceless." I have been waiting for this one forever, and I cannot wait to add another Caroline Munro movie to my collection.

Going by what the theatrical release schedule looks like on their website right now... it doesn't seem likely that they would play Zombie in Az. Bastards

No shit. Its not like Arizona doesn't have a venue for it. I know here in Tucson, there are a bunch of independent theatres I'm sure would love to snag it, if nothing more than for a midnight showing.

Same here, there's a few theatres that are just perfect for this kind of thing. Hell it seems like a movie that would be perfect to play at the Loft on Speedway.
