Halloween 2 Shout TV Version Different from AMC TV Version

Has anyone else noticed that some of the scenes are out of order on the Shout Factory TV version from what we're used to on the AMC TV version? Also, the Shout version is missing the scene were Mr. Garrett is talking to Budd and Jill when he say, "I belive it. They're not telling about the drugs involved." Let me know if anyone has noticed these differences.

I haven't seen the AMC version of Halloween 2, but I'm going to assume that the Shout! version was the one created back in 1981 specifically for television, whereas the AMC version has been re-edited in order to show more Walking Dead commercials.

Chances are the AMC version is wrong. They play censored versions of films, very often shown in the wrong ratios....I'm willing to bet shout's version is the correct one.

I have a rip of an original recording of the TV version of Halloween 2 (complete with glorious tracking issues) and I recently watched the Shout version. The Shout version is indeed the correct one.

The TV Cut on the Shout Factory release definitely omits that one scene where Jill, Bud, and Garrett are at the hospital's security station. Garret first mentions it was teenagers on drugs responsible for the crimes and Bud replies, "Drugs ... that's what's wrecking society."

That scene was included in the non-remastered TV Cut that aired on SyFy and other channels throughout the 80's, but it was never shown in the remastered TV cut on AMC. AMC probably cut it from their master for time reasons. A little unfortunate because the Shout Factory release feels incomplete without that scene.

Not to go too off topic, but I love when watching the scene where Michael "frightens" the old lady and it's clearly a picture of Michael from a different point in the movie because of the lighting.

That moment, unfortunately, is NOT omitted from the Shout DVD.
